‘Ang Hindi Na Trabaho Ng Gobyerno At Responsibilidad Ko’: Bettina Carlos’ Husband On Being A Parent

On May 9, 2022, Mikki Eduardo, husband of actress and author Bettina Carlos shared about his voting experience and a few of his thoughts.
He says stepdaughter Gummy accompanied him to line up at the precinct and vote. “Masaya siya. Di lang kita sa picture dahil medyo bitin tulog niya.”
His Instagram post goes on to talk about what he prays for the Philippine government before sharing three points of what he thinks is his responsibility as a Filipino citizen.

“Ang hindi na trabaho ng gobyerno, at responsibilidad ko,” he starts off his three points.
First, the Talbot seminary grad student says is loving and respecting his wife. “Kasi kahit pa gaano ako kabadtrip sa traffic o sa gobyerno, trabaho ko mahalin ang asawa ko 24/7.”

Bettina and Mikki were married on December 2, 2020 at Tagaytay Highlands. The couple enjoyed two wedding ceremonies.

“Raising my child the right way,” says Mikki is his second point.
“Kahit na laganap ang maling ugali ng mga nakikita niya sa labas ng bahay, trabaho ko iprocess sa kaniya ang mga nangyayari at ituro sa kaniya na si Jesus ang ating absolute truth and morality at hindi nakabase sa kung ano ang uso at ano na ang tanggap sa panahon ngayon,” he says.

It can be seen on both Bettina and Mikki’s Instagram accounts that Mikki has a great relationship Gummy. He spends time with her and goes on dates with just her, and is deliberate about building their father-daughter relationship.
Parents advises that biological parents would do well to give stepparents and their kids a chance to bond together by having one-on-one time. “This will help them feel more secure about one relationship, amidst changes in their lives.”
