I was intrigued so I immediately booked a free session for my 12-year-old, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made since the school break started.

I really appreciated that they offer a free initial session to prospective clients so you can get a feel of their system and their teachers, before you commit. And it was easy to sign in to their site and book a free session, because the site itself was easy to navigate. 

2. Care for Clients

Even though it was ‘just’ a free session, Edge Tutor was very diligent in reminding us of the scheduled one-on-one. They sent me emails every two days and followed up through text and call on the day of the session.

They emailed instructions on how to download the ClassIn app that they will be using. And one of their staff even called to ensure that we had no trouble downloading and installing the app, and signing into the class. I really appreciated that and it made us feel valued.

3. Easy and free to use Class In software

My daughter and I also liked the ClassIn app because it was simple, no-frills, and free to download. This was what they used for the tutoring class. It was new to us since we were accustomed to using either zoom or google meet, but we were not daunted since ClassIn was easy to use as well.

4. Easy and dummy-proof sign in

Come class time, a notification came telling us to sign in 20 minutes prior to the scheduled session. Upon signing in, the link for the class was made available 10 minutes before the time. Everything was so easy! You wouldn’t feel flustered at all since guides were made available by text and by email. 

5. Engaging and Knowledgeable Instructor

Finally, and the most important, was Teacher Susie, my daughter’s assigned tutor. She was prompt and was immediately accommodating to my newbie daughter. Hers was a 25-minute class in Math. And I loved how the teacher was so engaging and very energetic during the entire class that she was able to draw in my very shy child to really participate.

I love that she was confident and showed mastery of the subject at hand, as well as mastery in speaking English. She effectively helped my child remember the things she already knew about the topic and even shared new helpful information and tips to make sure that the topic would be easily remembered. After the class, she even made time to talk to me to apprise me of her session with my daughter, which I really appreciated. 

All in all, it was a truly pleasant and well-spent 30 minutes of my daughter’s time, which I believe she really enjoyed since she said she’d love to have more sessions like that in the future.
