Another baby is on the way for Roxanne Barcelo and her husband Jiggs.
The 37-year-old singer-actress announced their 'family update' in her vlog. The first few minutes of the video were mostly food tripping and shopping, like an ordinary weekend in Taiwan, where they are currently based. They recently migrated to the country, where her husband's family is.
Towards the end of the video, during sunset, Roxanne said that the painting-like sky was the perfect backdrop for their announcement. Jiggs announced that they are pregnant. Roxanne also revealed the baby's gender, "We're having our second baby boy in a few months, end of January."
On Instagram, she posted family photos sharing the news as well.
In June, the couple celebrated her firstborn Cinco's first birthday in the place where they had their first date.
Roxanne got engaged and married in 2020.
How to manage pregnancy with a toddler
While pregnancy is already challenging, what more if you have a clingy toddler? Roxanne is about to enter a new chapter in her motherhood journey where she needs to be supported.
Here are some tips from What To Expect:
1. Get some help
Accept that you need to ask for help, whether it's your husband or family members like your parents, in this very challenging time. Since your toddler will be very mobile, having a babysitter helps a lot especially since your growing belly might soon get in the way.
2. Play with your toddler depending on your comfort level.
Although you cannot be as active as you used to be playing with your child, this is the best time to introduce other activities to your toddler that will not take much of your effort and energy. Playing with puzzles, board games, and arts and crafts can keep them engaged, without posing any harm to you and your baby.
3. Cut yourself some slack.
You don't have to keep your home as clean and tidy unlike before, because your toddler will be messy. And it's okay. Remember that your focus is you and your family's health, so don't be too harsh on yourself when there are some things you cannot attend to because of the changes in your life. Prenatal depression is real.
