“Hold on parang I see two.”
Bettinna Carlos-Eduardo wrote in a recent Facebook post as she looked back on the emotional moment she learned she was pregnant with twin boys.
Last June 21, the actress and host announced the arrival of her twin babies, just in time for Father’s Day. The post included a photo of her sons wearing matching onesies in different shades of blue, along with a snap of her husband, Mikki Eduardo, carrying one of the twins. The boys, named Juanito and Antonino, were born at 34 weeks.
In her lengthy post, Bettinna revealed that what was initially a routine checkup to confirm the viability of her pregnancy turned into the day they received the “BIGGEST SHOCK OF [THEIR] LIVES."
“When the OB there [at the diagnostic center] checked me, she said: ‘Congratulations! It’s not ectopic,” Bettinna wrote.
“And then after maybe 2 seconds, she moved the ultrasound probe and said: ‘Hold on parang I see two.’”
The doctor then proceeded to check:
“Upon checking she did see another sac with a tiny circle at the bottom right corner with an even tinier part in it flickering. There was also heartbeat already on the second embryo. This was at 6 weeks.”
“Our twins were not from the same egg,” Bettinna further explained. “In fact they were not fertilized at the same time (hence the difference in size). This was such a mystery to us.”
“Nauna yung isa, sumunod yung pangalawa per sabay silang lalabas,” Bettina recounted the doctor as saying.

Read hereWhat is superfetation
Superfetation is an extremely rare type of pregnancy in which a woman conceives again while already pregnant. Instead of both babies being conceived at the same time, as with typical fraternal twins, the second baby is conceived days or even weeks after the first. Because they have different dates of conception, the babies develop at different stages during pregnancy.
In a normal pregnancy, hormonal changes stop ovulation, making another pregnancy virtually impossible. In superfetation, however, another egg is somehow released, fertilized, and successfully implants in the uterus despite an existing pregnancy. As a result, superfetation is considered one of the rarest pregnancy phenomena, with only a handful of documented cases worldwide.
Bettinna described her twin boys as a miracle, sharing that she had dreamed of having twins since she was a young girl.
“Having our twins showed me both God’s humor and power — to answer unspoken desires we don’t even dare pray for. You see when I was young, pangarap ko magkaanak na kambal kasi cute. But when I [got] married I did not even think of praying for it because Mikki and I both do not have the twin gene (sorry naman, inismall ko si Lord. Pero gets, this was not the kind of desire I would actively pray for).
“But in my heart I really wanted to have a boy already. And I told God, ‘Lord sana po boy na. And then gawa kami ulit [kaagad] sana boy ulit Lord para [hindi] malungkot yung boy at may kalaro siya. Pero Lord up to You.’ And then Gummy joked in the car on the way to the mall ‘Mummy what if twins?!’ Which I just ignored kasi there was no way we would have twins. [Hindi] ko talaga pinasin yung sinabi niya.
“And lo and behold, we have twins and both are boys. God really did give us 2 (boys) like I prayed for and He gave them to us as twins — something I did not even pray for.
“What a miracle Lord.🥹 Wala Ka talagang limit.❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for our boys.🩵💙”
Congratulations to the Eduardos on the newest additions to their family!
