Janine Tugonon has welcomed her first child! On Thursday, the model and beauty queen shared photos on Instagram, showing her baby girl and her French partner as she introduced her newborn to the world.
“Bonjour Madeleine Sophia. Thank you, Lord, for a healthy baby, a positive birth experience, and so far, a great CS recovery. You, Lord, always got my back, and Your grace is sufficient,” she wrote.
Janine noted that it had been two weeks since her baby's birth and playfully remarked, “Time to start reading books to you. (Thinking between taxation, accounting, AI, coding, and IT? - haha char lang, pero someday 'yan talaga sana),” hinting at her hopes for Madeleine's future interests.
While enjoying her new journey as a mom, Janine has also opened up about the challenges of breastfeeding. In an Instagram Story on November 1, Janine admitted that breastfeeding has been more difficult than she expected.
“‘Sup eyebags? Kaya pa, teh?” she joked, showing a selfie beside her baby’s crib.
She went on to say, “Not gonna lie, I underestimated breastfeeding. For me, it's more difficult than the pregnancy, the CS, and CS recovery,” referring to her Cesarean section birth.

After finishing as first runner-up in Miss Universe 2012, Janine pursued a modeling career in the U.S., securing high-profile gigs such as a Victoria's Secret ad, becoming an NU muse, and walking the runway at New York Fashion Week in 2017.
Janine and her partner have kept their relationship private.
Janine Tugonon's Pregnancy Announcement
In June this year, Janine announced on social media that she was expecting a baby. She shared photos of her baby bump and expressed excitement for the next chapter in her life.
“Exciting times, new goals set, and a new season in life ahead,” she wrote in an Instagram post, also revealing she that was having a baby girl. Fellow beauty queens Pia Wurtzbach, MJ Lastimosa, Ariella Arida, and Gazini Ganados, among others, congratulated her.
"Yayyy congratulations, momma," Ariella commented.
“Amazing!!! Excited for this new chapter of yours!! Congratulations, Janine,” said Gazini.
