Sandra Lemonon Recalls Sol Mercado Watched Her CS While 'Holding My Hand, Playing Music'The couple were preparing for a natural home or water birth but ended up having an emergency Cesarean section delivery.by Jocelyn Valle .
Two weeks later, Sandra took to Instagram to share the first part of "Z's birth story" and a few snaps taken from that momentous event.
The Filipino-French beauty, who represented Taguig City in Miss Universe Philippines 2020, recalled in her post that she and her hushand, a Filipino-American professional basketball player, were taken by surprise by her unscheduled childbirth.
She described in the caption her experience as "everything I ever feared & didn’t prepared for, yet it was still one of the most life changing & favourite memories I have ever made."
She went on narrating what happened: "From wanting & preparing for a natural home/water birth to an Emergency C-section just hours after our casual 41week Ob appointment. To rushing home & grabbing what we needed."
Sandra admitted to "melting down" to Sol for a long list of reasons:

- "Because of how scared I was to have my first surgery"
- "That baby Z wasn’t 'safe' in my womb anymore"
- "How I wasn’t prepared mentally/emotionally & physically for what was about to happen"
- "Building all my courage & accepting that this would ensure our safety & trust that everything will go well"
- Deciding to "let go of being in 'control' to actually doing the surgery"
- "On day 1 of recovery not being able to stand up because I was still numb"
- "Couldn’t get up & walk to the toilet so I decided to be creative & pee in a cup since they never brought me the urinal"
- "Having food poisoning"
- "Crying uncontrollably (thank you hormones + being sleep deprived)
- Finding out baby Z had an infection & we had to stay 10 days in the hospital"
In summation: "It was for sure one of the most hardest moments of my life."
The first-time mom explained, "It reminded me that anything & everything can happen/change in an instant… & how little control we actually have in some situations… the only thing we do have control over is how we perceive/look & react to it. So we decided to make the best out of it & so we did."
Sandra then gave "a big shoutout" to Baby Z's Papa Sol, telling him, "You are an incredible life partner, papa & friend."
She went on enumerating how her husband supported her: "You never left my side nor ever once complained about anything. I still cannot believe how you watched the operation from start to finish & lied to me that you couldn’t see what was happening when you obviously could."
She remembered her husband as "super calm, holding my hand & playing me some music," adding "while I was doing my best to not 'fall asleep' as I felt faintish, as I was losing a lot of blood."
The new mom said she lost around 1.9 liters of blood from the emergency CS operation, when the average is 1 liter or less.
Sandra ended her post with more words of gratitute for Sol: "Me and Baby Z, adore/respect/appreciate & love you so so so much. Thank you for showing up, being present & taking extremely good care of us. We are so blessed to have you in our life."CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
