Gone are the days when moms would just coop up at home and accept that they are already losyang.
If you need an extra push to get eyelash extensions for yourself, then this is it.
Honestly, for a mom like me who hasn't gone to the salon in months, getting my lashes done seems like a huge commitment.
You have to spend a few hours in the salon, maintain the lashes daily, and make sure you (or your child) don't scratch your eyes. It's too much! It will go off in a few weeks anyway so why bother, right?
But these four moms from the Smart Parenting community prove that while getting lash extensions might feel like a waste of our precious time, we will reap all the benefits soon after.
Moms on why you should get lash extensions
'It gets me ready for the day'
Mommy Nikki Viola is a host and courtside reporter from Marikina. As a solo parent of a 2-year-old daughter, she says getting her lashes done helps lighten her daily load.

At first, she felt nervous that it would hurt, but she said it turned out okay. "It makes me feel effortlessly beautiful! Especially when I wake up in the morning, I feel like I am already made up and ready for the day!" the Smart Parenting Mom Squad member shared. Her first lash extensions were done in AYUMI back in 2021.
"We can be maarte and be a mom at the same time!
She tells moms who are hesitant to give it a try. "Being a mom should never be a hindrance to be maarte, because we can be maarte and be a mom at the same time!"

'It perks me up'
Mom of one and Smart Parenting's associate video director Cherrie Julian revealed how getting lash extensions turned out to be a good 'budol' for her.
"Nabudol ako by another mom noong biglaang nag-holiday, I saw it on her Instagram stories," she said. "Ang biggest budol ay naka 20% off siya at that time! I had free time the next day, and so I booked an eyelash extension session!"
"When I look in the mirror, I see something extra in my eyes, I know something pretty is there, and it perks me up."
She shared her experience in the same salon that Mommy Nikki went to, "Ang saya kasi nakapikit ka the whole time so I had time to nap pero productive yung nap kasi paggising ko, ang ganda na ng lashes ko!"

Minsan after maligo hindi na ako nakakapagsuklay because automatic hinahanap na ako ni Liit, but since I got these eyelash extensions, when I look in the mirror, I see something extra in my eyes, na hindi ganoon ka-shocking but I know something pretty is there, and it perks me up."

But she tells moms, "Go for it. It's not bad to heed the call of beauty every once in a while. When you feel beautiful, you'll be able to give off that joyful vibe to your child."
"Take care of yourself, mama. Motherhood has its sacrificial part but the modeling part speaks a whole lot more. Like what they say, kids learn more about what is caught than taught. I want my child to learn to care for herself too!" she said.
TIP: Make sure that the salon offers retouching services as part of the package!

'It cuts time to my beauty routine'
Momma on-the-go Rosie Domingo shares why she recently got her lashes made. "I’m traveling to Paris tomorrow, and I really wanted to cut time to my beauty routine. This is so I can have more time enjoying Paris instead of having to allocate time to put on make-up," she told Smart Parenting.

Rosie, 37, says her new lashes give her "woke up like this feels." "I'm a mom of three and my days get really busy. Having this as soon as I wake up and brush my teeth, makes me feel pretty.
PHOTO BY COURTESY OF ROSIE DOMINGOThe Smart Parenting Mom Squad member also has this beautiful message for moms who are feeling guilty about looking pretty, "When you feel good about yourself mommas, you also take better care of others. Don’t forget the self because the self is the one that provides love and service to your kids, husband, and job."

'I have it for special events, but you can have it every day'
For Mommy Genina Domingo, getting her lash extensions is a life hack for all the events she needed to attend.
"Don't be embarrassed if at times you want to feel good and beautiful."
"Several events were happening in a month and I didn't want to get my make-up done several times so I decided to get lash extensions instead," the 27-year-old single mom from Marikina said.

TIP: Get subtle extensions, and opt for the natural look. Also, choose when to have it done like Mommy Genina only got it for special events. "But if you feel like wearing them every day, why not? You do you girl!" she said.
To wrap up, Mommy Genina said it best, "Motherhood is a journey where we try to take care of our young ones to a point where we almost forget to take care of ourselves, so don't be embarrassed if at times you want to feel good and beautiful because our children need healthy and happy mommas."
