It's funny how moms' concerns range from 'Should I resign or stay at home and be with my children?' to 'What ulam should I cook for lunch?' to 'Which tumbler brand is really leak-proof?' to 'Should I enroll my child to ballet lessons again?'
To add to the endless tabs open in every mom's mind is wondering what bra brand to shop next. Moms know they can't rush this decision—after all, bra shopping is a rare event. The product should be good quality, comfortable, and worth their every hard-earned money.
Mom asks for bra recommendations
So, a mom at the Smart Parenting Village did the right thing by posting her concern in the Facebook group of over 109,000 members. At first, she was worried that her post might not get approved. However, in a diverse group of over 108,000 parents who discussed everything—including pubic hair trimmers—it was clear that no concern is too small.
"Hi, mommies. Ewan ko lang kung ma-approve itong concern ko," she wrote anonymously. "Ang petty lang nito, pero magiging malaking tulong siya sa akin."
She then went on to tell the group that ever since she gave birth, she only had three bras and all of them are now 'retired.' She would later reveal that her child is already 13 years old.
"Baka naman po may mai-recommend kayo na magandang quality pero affordable kasi nagtingin ako sa mga sikat na brands, ang mamahal na!" she wrote.
She said she's on the heavier side, "Medyo malaki ang "future" ko eh, yung tipong pwede na isabit sa balikat kaya nahihirapan din akong maghanap."
"Anong gamit ninyo, mga mommies? O wala din kayong mga bagong bra?" she concluded with a laughing emoji.
Bra recommendations from Smart Parenting Village
As expected, moms came through with their trusted recommendations. Some of the most suggested brands were Uniqlo, Ecora, and Avon. Mommy Arra swears by Ecora, saying it fits her well, "Bet ko kasi salo lahat, pati mga back fat and side fat. Ewan ko if yun ba ang tawag doon!"
Several moms recommended Sabina for plus-size bras, which go up to cup size 42D. One mom even shared a screenshot of the available sizes—though many were already sold out. Another mom agreed, saying she also loves Sabina bras: "Boobsy din kasi ako, at kapit na kapit yan!"
Victoria's Secret and Marks & Spencer also made the list, with moms vouching for their tried-and-tested quality.
Gigi Amore was also highly recommended by moms. "The best kahit sa washing machine labhan!" Mommy Arni also swore by it, saying "Mas okay din sa akin nakakapagsukat kaysa maghula-hula ng size sa online."
Mommy Lyka also swears by Gigi Amore, as well as other brands that can be bought in department stores like So-en, Lady Grace, and Sogo. They can be bought for less than Php 1000 each "pero matibay."
While some moms recommended affordable options, others advised against skimping on bras. One mom said, "Okay ang branded na matibay—matagal bago masira." Mommy Pat also chimed in with a reminder, "Reward yourself by changing or adding to your undergarments every 3 to 6 months."
A lot of moms surprisingly recommend nipple tapes or nipple covers.
However, the anonymous mom who asked the question said nipple tapes don't work for her. "Maraming salamat, mommies. Check ko lahat yang mga suggestions niyo, kaya lang malabo yung nipple tape at pads. Pag nag-nipple pad o tape wala silbi kasi nasa ilalim na siya, hahaha!" she wrote in a comment.
The other comments that matter
Aside from sharing their bra recommendations, some moms joined the conversation simply to empathize—because sometimes, that's what moms need.
One mom said, "Jusko, ako nga dalawa lang ang bra."
Another mom said, "Bra?? Ano po yun?"
Another commented, "Nagba-bra na nga lang pag aalis ng bahay, nalilimutan pa minsan!"
And another, "Akala ko ako lang. Hahaha!"
