Dads Share Their Christmas Wish List: Shoes, Gadgets, And Happy Endings!

We took the time to ask Dads from the Smart Parenting Village, friends, and colleagues, what they want for Christmas, adding, “Hindi ikaw ang magbabayad,” for good measure. We got non-material answers such as good health for the whole family, financial stability, vacation, and even a baby girl! Mamas may be the magic-makers this season, but here’s an easier shopping list, just for the dads.

Shoes, shoes, shoes!

Shoes emerged as a top choice among Dads! Christian Kevin Castro shared in Smart Parenting Village, “As a tatay of a toddler and a newborn, I just wish for 7 hours of sleep, which is unattainable. But I also wish for good health, peace of mind, and financial stability in the coming year!” He then added, “If a material item, then a Jordan 11 Gratitude would be nice.”

Another mom shared, “My husband wants another Jordan 1, in another colorway, Jordan 1 Low Bred Toe.”

Katrina Calimag-Rupera also shared her husband’s newfound love for running shoes due in part to his fitness journey, “Running shoes from Adidas and gusto niya. Dahil nga nag-eexercise siya at sumasali ng marathon.”

Here’s a simple yet practical wish–a full tank of gas. Smart Parenting Mom Squad Ella Libaton shared, “My husband wants a full gas tank! Mahal ah!”

Another Smart Parenting Mom Squad member, Joselle Therese Ona said that her husband also has the same wish, “Si Daddy Gene, iyan din lahing hirit sa akin since ‘Grab driver’ ko naman daw lagi siya sa events.”

Adah Jachin Micutan’s husband has a very specific car request for Christmas, “New set of tires!” On the other hand, Jessica Arjin Plastina Panganiban slightly regretted asking, saying, “Ganito ang sabi niya sa akin. Dapat pala hindi na ako nagtanong,” while also showing a photo of a new set of mags.

Another guaranteed way to make Dad happy is by gifting him with a new guitar or amplifier, or his musical instrument of choice.

Kai Buan shared, “Hubby is eyeing an electric guitar. 4-figures lang naman. He needs it to destress kasi he’s in public service plus he’s caring for a cancer-stricken wife. Sana mabili na niya.” Kai is currently battling Stage 4 Breast Cancer with liver and brain mets, and is hopeful that her treatments will work. Honey Gee B. Labindao shared her early Christmas gift to her husband in the Smart Parenting Village, “Na-advance na po iyung sa asawa ko.
