[UPDATED] Smart Parenting believes that motherhood, behind all the filtered posts and amidst unglamorous moments, is a beautiful journey worth celebrating.

That’s why, despite the popularity of glammed up maternity shoots and staged self-portraits, we want to go against the grain to celebrate motherhood in its rawest, most real, and unapologetically beautiful form.

Smart Parenting launches #SPMotherhood100, A Mother's Day Photo Contest

This May, Smart Parenting, the number one parenting media brand in the Philippines, launches a campaign that highlights 100 raw and unapologetically beautiful images that capture the reality of motherhood.

To choose the best images, we will host a photo contest open to anyone who can capture the beauty of unfiltered motherhood. It could be a photo of a mom breastfeeding, cooking, working, giving birth, or simply being a mom. From the grandest gestures to the most mundane tasks, everything is part of motherhood. The best 100 photos will be featured in articles, videos, and billboards on Mother’s Day.

What's in it for you

The subjects and photographers of the best 10 photos will get special features on Smart Parenting's website, Smart Parenting's social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube), and Summit Network's Out-of-home LED Billboard in C5 and Robinsons Cebu, plus a total cash prize worth P200,000.

Each team will get P20,000 each and special gifts, P10,000 for the photographer and the other P10,000 to the mother/subject of the photo.Winners will be announced on Mother’s Day on May 14, 2023.

How to join

Eligibility

• This contest is open to all Filipino photo enthusiasts aged 18 years old and above.
• Employees of Summit Media, Smart Parenting Mom and Dad Squad members are allowed to join, except SmartParenting.com.ph employees and their relatives.

Photo Specifications

• The theme for this year’s photo contest is “Motherhood in its most raw and authentic form.”
• Each contestant must submit a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 photos only.
• The photo entries must be the contestant's original work. These should not be entered and awarded in any other contest and/or published for news, advertising, or otherwise.
• Photos shot before 2023 can be submitted provided that these are original works of the contestants.
• Photos must be in JPEG format, with an aspect ratio of 4:3 (portrait or landscape), and should have at least 1280x720 px and 300 dpi.
• Photos should be in black and white
• Entries must not contain date stamps, watermarks or any text on the image.

Submission of Photos

• Contestants will be asked to provide the title and description of the photos, name of the mother, and relationship with the mother.
• Smart Parenting will only accept entries submitted through the online entry form.
• Entries submitted through other means will not be accepted and will be automatically disqualified

Criteria

40% - Content and Relevance to the Theme

• Does it capture the essence of the theme or convey a unique perspective on it?
• How well does the photo tell a story or convey a message?

30% - Creativity and Communication of the Image

• How original and innovative is the concept or idea behind the photo?
• Does it communicate a clear narrative or a powerful message or emotion?

30% - Quality and Overall Impact

• Does it leave a lasting impression on the viewer and inspire further reflection or engagement?
• Is the photo free of noise, blur, and other technical issues?

Terms & Conditions

By submitting an entry, the participant grants the contest organizer and sponsors the right to use their photo for promotional purposes, such as on websites, social media, and in print materials. The contest organizer and sponsors will credit the photographer whenever possible.

All participants agree to comply with these rules and all decisions made by the contest organizer and judges. Any attempt to manipulate the contest or circumvent these rules will result in disqualification.
