Angat Buhay's Museo Ng Pag-asa Reopens To The Public

The Museo ng Pag-asa happily announced that it's reopening to the public on Wednesday, after completing back-to-back relief operations in response to the devastating cyclones that affected our country last month.

Angat Buhay's Museo ng Pag-asa

After the "pink movement" during the 2022 presidential elections, where many Filipinos showed genuine volunteerism and bayanihan, the non-governmental organization (NGO) Angat Buhay collected various tokens received by former Vice President Atty. Leni Robredo throughout her people’s campaign and curated them into a comprehensive museum exhibit.

At the Museo ng Pag-Asa, you can find artworks by dedicated Filipino artists and designers, notably Toym Imao and the late Robert Alejandro. The museum also features vibrant murals, along with contributions from architectural and construction teams, as well as many other talented Filipinos. Additionally, the building that houses the museum was generously provided by supporters from the Rodriguez family.

"The museum is curated to emphasize hope—hope for a democracy that works for the people, especially those at the margins. This is manifested in the permanent exhibit that presents physical and digital art forms that capture the recent 'pink' phenomenon that made an indelible mark even after the recent elections," its event description read during its opening in September 2022.

Angat Buhay's Museo ng Pag-asa is open from Tuesday to Sunday (except holidays), from 10 AM to 7 PM. Admission is free, and no reservation is required for entry.

You can visit the museum at 84 Cordillera Street, Santa Mesa Heights, Quezon City. If you're commuting, you can take a jeepney that passes through the Baclaran-SM Fairview route via Quezon Avenue. But if you're taking a private car, you can easily find the location using Google Maps.

What to Expect in Museo ng Pag-asa

Upon entering the museum, you'll be greeted by vibrant murals adorning the walls, which serve as perfect backdrops for family photos!

The museum showcases an array of campaign memorabilia in shades of pink, including artworks, avant-garde dresses, painted musical instruments, dolls, and more.

There's also a Pasalubong shop where you can purchase tote bags and various anik-anik, all featuring designs related to the pink movement.

The museum offers an open area where you can enjoy some fresh air after looking around.
