Just like other moms, the quarantine period made Yce Tucker-Tiburcio (@yce_tucker.tiburcio) discover a love for baking. Thanks to this Konka electric oven she bought from Lazada, she was able to make treats “from cookies to crinkles and even my daughter’s birthday cake and cupcakes!’
She adds, “It has two layers which can fit two batches of cookies or cupcakes. It’s small, but it does the job perfectly, plus it’s affordable and the color is so cute! Recommended for foodie moms like me.”

Mom Patricia Rodriguez-Carranza (@mamaatbp) is a music instructor, so it was important for her to invest in a quality microphone for classes and recordings. This Maono mic that’s plug and play via USB is the perfect fit.
“Recording has never been easier (and clearer!) with the new mic,” she shares. “Before, I would only use my default mic on the tablet and put my child’s stocking over the mic hole to record (for voice collaborations with my chorista friends). “We fry almost everything using this, and I’ve even tried baking in it,” she shares. “Although it’s a bit bulky — my only challenge since we live in a small unit — I still don’t regret our decision to get one. It’s super convenient!”

Another one of Din’s sulit buys? This air purifier, which many say is a must-have during this pandemic. “It definitely improved the air quality in our [condo] unit. My husband’s allergic rhinitis significantly lessened after buying this,” she shares.
This is an appliance we never thought we needed! So, go and get one especially if you have family members who have allergies. It really helps a lot,” the mom adds.

Mom Isabel Dizon (@mommybudgetarian) once shared that they’re able to get by on a Php20,000 monthly budget without an air conditioner. But she recently gave in because “super init talaga at ‘di na namin matiis lalo at mayroon kaming baby."
Since she still wants to save on their monthly bills, they decided to invest in a window- and inverter-type aircon. “Gusto ko makatipid sa kuryente kaya inverter ang kinuha ko, at brand new para may warranty!”
She adds, “Masaya ako dahil after gamitin ng one month 8 to 12 hours a day, Php300 lang ang nadagdag sa electric bill namin. Akala ko dahil sa mga horror post na nababasa ko sa electric bill ay magiging ganun din kami kapag nag-aircon pero hindi, malaki talaga ang difference kapag inverter at sakto sa space ang nabiling aircon.”
She also shares this tip when choosing an air conditioner for your room: “Match your aircon horsepower (HP) to the size of your room. Importante yan para makatipid ng bongga sa bill, better check with an electrician for you to know the size of air conditioner you'll need.”

Another appliance on every mom’s wishlist: an automatic washing machine to make doing laundry easier and faster. We’ve got a list of top load washers here, but mom Vanessa De Guzman (@vanessaddeguzman) suggests going for a front load washer if you have the budget for it.
She went for an inverter type since it saves on electricity and a front load washer because “tipid sa tubig.”
“We are both working fulltime, no yaya, and helper at home plus a homeschooling daughter that’s why this is very helpful. I can still do other household chores and multi-task while doing laundry,” Vanessa explains.
They used to have their clothes laundered for Php380 a week, but Vanessa wasn’t always satisfied. This is also what led them to purchase the washing machine.
She says, “It’s convenient, less pagod, and less effort pa. 90% tuyo na sya paglabas, kahit air dry lang ok na. Quite expensive lang but if return of investment, winner naman!”
