Neri Miranda Gives Chito A Car On His Birthday! Here's What He Plans To Do Because 'Sobrang Hiya Ko'

While we were all busy cramming for last-minute Valentine's Day gifts for our husbands, Neri Miranda went on and set the bar high with her birthday surprise for Chito Miranda - his dream car.

The Parokya ni Edgar frontman took to Facebook to flex his new Toyota Hilux Conquest pick-up truck, a surprise from Neri, who calls herself Wais Na Misis. Its price ranges from P1.3 to 2 million, according to Toyota.

'Tunay na wais na mister'

"Niregaluhan ako ni Neri ng bagong sasakyan," Chito wrote on Sunday. "Alam nya kasi na gusto ko talaga magkaroon ng pick-up truck pero di ako bumibili kasi gusto ko unahin yung income generating investments. Kumbaga, oks lang ako magtiis sa lumang sasakyan at gamitin yung pera ko on things that will make me more money, instead of buying myself a new car. Delayed gratification," he called it.

He continued, "Since alam nya na hindi ako bibili ng sasakyan para sa sarili ko, kahit gaano ko pa kagusto magkapick-up, ang ginawa nya, sya nalang ang bumili for me."

"Ako ang tunay na #WaisNaMister," he concluded.

At the comment section, Chito further explained why he doesn't buy a car using his money. "Yun palagi ang goal ko tuwing may pera ako: Invest lang muna ng invest sa mga pwedeng pagkakitaan hanggang umabot sa point na barya nalang yung dream car ko."

The surprise

On Instagram, Neri shared a video on how they surprised Chito with a white pick-up truck parked outside their house. Their kids, Pia and Miggy, were already in it.

"Bumili ka ng sasakyan?!" Chito exclaimed when Neri handed him the keys. 

Chito clarified, "Ikaw ba magda-down tapos ako maghuhulog?"

Neri explained, "Pinag-ipunan ko yan ng years."

Chito said he couldn't believe Neri bought him a car, let alone a brand-new one. "Sobrang dream ko talaga mag-ganito. It's too much, as a gift sa'yo, I'll pay for it."

To which Neri said, "I love you. This is for you, baby."

'Piso para sa sasakyan ni Chito'

Chito then took his new pick-up for a test drive, he said he thought Neri was going to give him something else, and that the pick-up was the delivery vehicle. 

Neri consoled him, "I love you, alam kong tagal mo nang pangarap yung pickup and syempre pinaprioritize natin yung mga kailangan natin."

She added, "Pero eto kasi, matagal ko nang pinagipunan as in talagang piso para sa sasakyan ni Chito."

On Facebook, Chito responded to a netizen who said he might pay for the monthly fees of the car, "Yun din tanong ko eh hahaha sabi ko baka naman sya lang yung nag-down tapos ako din pala bahala sa monthly. Pero honestly sa sobrang hiya ko I offered na bayaran ko nalang yung binayad niya sa kotse, kasi ako naman yung may gusto ng pick-up eh."

"Kasi I love you so much and I promised you years ago na bibilhan kita ng pick-up, sabi ko ako ang bibili niyan for you."

Chito then said, "I'm so excited [for] this car."

On February 7, Neri wrote a message to her husband, "Happy birthday sa best husband para sa akin! Thank you sa support mo palagi sa akin. Because of you, napapagaan ang trabaho ko. Because of you, mas masarap mangarap. At dahil sa'yo, natutupad dahan dahan ang lahat ng mga yun na magkasama tayo. Thank you, Dad!"

She added, "Ikaw ang the best dad para sa mga bata. Kahit pagod ka sa gigs mo, nakikipaglaro ka pa rin sa mga bata. Kami ang priority po. Happppy birthday, Dad! We love you so much!"

How Neri can afford to give a car as a gift

In a previous Smart Parenting article, Neri shared tips on how she worked hard to purchase properties and manage several businesses. 

One of her tips is making a dream board, "Kaya pag may gusto ako na negosyo o property o kahit anong goal ko, piniprint ko talaga tapos pinapaskil ko sa dream board ko. Kapag araw araw mong nakikita yung pangarap mo, pagsisikapan mo talaga hanggang matupad," she said.
