Trigger warning: This article tackles sensitive topics such as pregnancy loss.
"As long as we have love and faith in God, we will be okay," writes actress Alex Gonzaga, on Instagram on January 28.
This comes two days after her husband, Mikee Morada, revealed in an interview with Toni Gonzaga, her sister, that they suffered a third miscarriage last December.
She shared photos of her positive pregnancy test, as well as the ultrasound scan of the embryo, "This is the small but beautiful miracle we hold onto. We will never forget that moment when God blessed us with the sight of an embryo and the sound of a heartbeat in my womb."

Alex also addressed her supporters, "To everyone who has messaged, sent gifts, and prayed with us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Salamat po. All your kindness and words mean so much to us. It’s so overwhelming to know na napakarami sa inyo ang kasama namin ni Mikee in prayer, hoping for the day we become parents."
She concluded her post with a hopeful and humble line, "In His perfect time, we believe."
Alex and Mikee have been married for four years. In that time, they have suffered three miscarriages, two of which were caused by a blighted ovum. However, the recent one was the most painful, as they had already seen the embryo and heard their baby's heartbeat during the ultrasound.
Mikee, like Alex, remains hopeful, saying these struggles help strengthen their marriage, "Ito yung nagpalakas sa amin, bilang lumalim yung relationship bilang mag-asawa. At the end of the day, lagi kong sinasabi, 'Kahit anong mangyari, biyayaan man tayo o hindi, tayong dalawa ang magkasama, okay lang. Okay lang.'"
He also assured Alex, "Hindi man tayo pinalad ngayon, lumalim [naman] ang ating relationship, at alam ko sa susunod, mas alam na natin kung anong gagawin, mas na-appreciate pa natin yung isa't isa. I love you and I'll always be here for you."
