When it comes to throwing the perfect birthday bash, Andi Eigenmann sure knows how to sprinkle some magic and make heartwarming memories for her kids.
For her daughter Lilo's fifth birthday, Andi threw a birthday party that was nothing less than a vivid painting of joy, laughter, and togetherness!
With a "Fiesta y Flamingo" for a the theme. It was an explosion of colors, cheer, and cute flamingo motifs. Nothing fancy, just a simple homemade celebration with Lilo's friends, both old and new. Lilo's laughter and happiness added that extra sparkle.
Lilo's Birthday Wishlist
Every parent knows the thrill (and slight panic) that comes with fulfilling a child's birthday wishlist. For Lilo's case, what she wanted, and her answers were as delightfully simple as they were specific: "marshmallow-topped hotdogs, Nanay's spaghetti, her favorite cake, and some activities with friends," Andi shared.
But wait, the request didn't end there. For her present, Lilo had her heart set on a very specific outfit—a crop top and a skirt that reached her ankles. Easier said than done as the hunt for this outfit did not pass without some challenges.
"Unexpectedly, ang hirap! Luckily my sisters and I were able to spot this one in Manila! Not her size so I had to sew it to fit," Andi said. But all that was worth it with Andi sharing how Lilo would tell her how fun her birthday was until the next day.
Andi Remembers Her Nanay Jaclyn
Andi couldn't help but reminisce about her own childhood birthdays, lovingly crafted by her Nanay Jaclyn, making her feel grateful for those memories.
"Preparing Lilo's birthday reminded me of Nanay, as it dawned on me that every birthday party I had growing up, was literally DIYed by her. Each year, it would be held in our little home, just an intimate set- up, with our family, my cousins and best bud," Andi shared.
Andi's memories aren't filled with lavish parties or fancy giveaways but with the genuine moments of joy that come from DIY effort and heartfelt planning. She remembers how her Nanay "would curate the theme, have activities prepared, and we would always have her famous birthday spaghetti along with other equally tasty dishes."
"Back then I didn't think anything of it. They weren't anything grand, no cool acts or fancy giveaways, like at the ones we would get invited to. But now, looking back, I realise how lucky I was to have a nanay as punong abala as she was, who, in her own way, always made sure I had a birthday to remember," Andi reflected.
Remembering and honoring her Nanay Jaclyn, who passed earlier this year, Andi find purpose and fulfillment that she is now able to be part of making heartwarming core memories for her children during their birthdays.
"Now, I lovingly take pride in following in her footsteps as I do the same for my kids. Birthday spaghetti included, of course!," the mom of three happily exclaimed.
