Andi Eigenmann may give the impression (based on comments to her social media posts) that she didn't have a hard time getting to her current fit figure. But the actress-turned-island mama to three kids (Ellie, Lilo, Koa) clarifies she didn't achieve it overnight.
"It actually took me 2 years to lose 60lbs!" she says in a recent post. "I feel like it seemed like it flew by so quickly because I put a limit and set new goals each time. This way, it didn't feel like I was doing it forever, resulting in feeling like a failure."
Andi then shares what she's learned so far from her "fitness journey in a sustainable way" that may help others, especially moms like her, to get on losing unwanted weight, too. She actually hopes to becoming a certified nutritionist one day.
1. You can eat what you want without being reckless. She confesses to be leaning towards "the healthier options," but she still gives in to her cravings, including junk food.
2. Go for the naturally colorful food that make up the rainbow.
3. CARBS are not the enemy. She explains, "It's important that we don't leave out certain food groups because they all serve for something."
4. Constantly make better choices with the food you eat. This led to Andi to "actually enjoying this type of food way more." Thus she tells her followers, "If you are loving the journey, you will be glad to stay on track!"
5. Listen to your body, and not torture it. As a result, says Andi, she doesn't end up "binge eating all the weight back," which is the most common side effect of diet trends.
6. Have a holistic approach to your fitness journey. Meaning, all aspects of well-being go hand-in-hand.
Andi also asserts, "So while we now know that 'losing the weight' is mostly about food, it will definitely work way more if you're entire lifestyle goes with it. Good exercise and a great mindset to go along with it should do the trick!"
