Actress Ara Mina, 41, is now engaged to her non-showbiz boyfriend, Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) Undersecretary Dave Almarinez, 46.
In an Instagram post, Tuesday night, January 12, 2021, photography company Nice Print Photography made the big reveal. Ara and Dave are showing off her engagement ring, while the words “Will You Marry Me” are visible in the background.
“And it’s official! @therealaramina is now engaged! Congratulations Dave and Ara! Sooooo happy to be part of this beautiful moment [heart emoji] #SheSaidYes,” Nice Print’s caption read.

The proposal happened at San Pedro, Laguna. Events stylist Gideon Hermosa transformed the city hall into a lush garden, which Ara described as a “beautiful and romantic place.”
The mom of one shared that the proposal came as a surprise. “I was totally clueless of what this day would bring. And your surprise made me felt more loved and cherished than I did yesterday,” she wrote.
In the photos that Ara shared, the actress was visibly emotional as Dave went down on one knee and presented the ring. She also cried while they were hugging each other.
The actress wrote, “Thank you for not giving up on me. You are the reason why we have stronger days together. God led us to each other for a great purpose. Let us both live it with faith and love.

Ara’s six-year-old daughter, Amanda Gabrielle, was also present, based on an Instagram post by @cotevents, owned by event coordinator Christine Ong Te, one of the people who made the surprise possible.
Amanda is Ara’s child with former partner Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses.
In the January 12 episode of ABS-CBN talk show Magandang Buhay, Ara shared that she and Dave have known each other for two years now and are exclusively dating. She has also introduced him to her family.
