Iza Calzado and husband Ben Wintle held a second celebration of their daughter Deia Amihan’s first birthday by hosting a heartwarming celebration at Buklod Kalinga, a children’s home in Better Living, Parañaque.
Reflecting on the past year, Iza expressed, “It’s been an amazing first year with our little girl. Ben and I couldn’t be more happier or more grateful for the biggest blessing God decided to grant us. As we look back on Deia’s first year, we can’t help but feel so lucky to be able to experience becoming parents who get to watch their baby learn and grow each day. We knew we had to give back, if only to be able to share at least an ounce of the love we feel in our hearts.”
And give back the small family did, with a celebration that saw the children of Buklod Kalinga treated to a day filled with laughter, music, dancing, and delicious food. Aptly named “Dia de la Deia,” Iza, Ben, Deia, and their friends, ensured that every moment was memorable for everyone involved.
“So on this day, we gave back to the girls of Buklod Kalinga at the Mano Amiga Academy–singing songs, sharing dances, and eating to our hearts content,” Iza shared.
Recognizing the efforts of their partners and suppliers, Iza added, “A happy day like this was made possible through the combined efforts of Paby’s Creative Events, Cocoon Studios, edamama, Aveeno, Sunnies, Belo Baby, Crepe Glazik, and McDonalds, Idorazation, Mimi Marquez, and Aya Fernandez, all of whom put such big smiles on the girls faces, and @divinemlee with @raisinglittleph for Deia’s dress.”
“Thank you for joining us in celebrating Deia’s first year. There will be more to come and more things to be grateful for, but for now, we thank the Lord that we can share this big love beyond our little family,” Iza concluded.

Deia’s milestones
Prior to Dia de la Deia, Iza and Ben previously had an intimate birthday gathering for Deia’s first birthday at their home last January 26. At the time, Iza wrote to express her gratitude, “And just like that, our Deia Amihan is 1 year old! Deia–we treasure every moment with you so dearly. You have exceeded our expectations in growing up so joyful, smart, and strong.Thank you for reminding us about what life is all about. We are so excited for more playtime with you!”
Deia also got baptized together with her cousin, Sadie Harlow, last January. Sadie is the daughter of actress Bianca King and Ralph Wintle.
