Katrina Halili is in mourning after the tragic passing of her boyfriend, former Wao, Lanao Del Sur Vice Mayor Jeremy Guiab. At the age of 53, Jeremy lost his life to a sudden and fatal heart attack on January 28, 2024.
The Kapuso actress and mom took to Instagram to share a poignant photo of Jeremy, bathed in light. In her caption, she said, “Ang daya mo Love, sabi mo aalagaan mo kami ni Katie. Bakit iniwan mo kami?”

According to reports, Jeremy suffered a heart attack in Katrina’s Quezon City residence. The actress rushed him to St. Luke’s Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
Katie is Katrina’s daughter with ex-boyfriend Kris Lawrence. In a previous interview in July 2023, Katrina spoke about Jeremy’s role in parenting, saying “Yung boyfriend ko yung mas nagga-guide sa akin para alagaan yung anak ko.
“Siya yung mas nagtuturo sa akin kasi stubborn ako, di ba? Stubborn din yung anak ko, so medyo mahirap kaming dalawa.
“Minsan, nawawalan ako ng pasensiya, siya yung mas kalmado. Tinutulungan niya ako talaga.”
In a previous interview with PEP in November 2023, Katrina expressed her happiness with Jeremy and her openness to taking their relationship to the next level. She shared, “Too early [to tell]... happy naman ako kung siya. Kasi kung siya kasi, komportable ka, di ba?
“Yun naman yung importante and yun din naman ang winish ko–parang may companion ako, na hindi ako naiilang, or nagagawa ko pa rin ang gusto ko. Hindi ko binabago ang sarili ko para sa iyo. Eto pa rin ako.”
Furthermore, she said, “Walang sugarcoating. May companion ka, may kasama ka. Para akong may kapatid, para akong may all-in-one.”
Quezon City Councilor Don De Leon, describing Jeremy as his best friend, brother, confidant, and partner, made the heartbreaking announcement on Instagram. He revealed that Jeremy passed at approximately 5:00 pm. De Leon requested prayers for Jeremy’s soul’s eternal rest and indicated that wake details will follow.
Celebrities, including Kris Bernal, Jackie Lou Blanco, Carla Abellana, and Camille Prats, flooded Katrina’s Instagram post with messages of condolences.
