The back-to-school season is in full swing, with parents busy enrolling their children and shopping for school supplies. Aside from tuition fees, parents know that uniforms and supplies costs can add up significantly. Fortunately, many Local Government Units (LGUs) in Metro Manila have stepped in to provide essential back-to-school kits, easing the financial burden on families and ensuring that students are well-prepared for the school year.

Here’s a rundown of the back-to-school supplies distribution for four major cities in Metro Manila, based on their recent social media announcements.

Makati City

Makati City has announced that Makatizen students will receive the following supplies coming school year:

School and PE uniforms:

Kinder to Grade 12:

• 2 sets of school uniforms
• 2 sets of PE uniforms
• 3 pairs of white socks
• 1 pair of sports socks
• 1 pair of black leather shoes
• 1 pair of rubber shoes

Grade 4 to 6: Students in the grade 4 to 6 levels will receive the following additional items

Pasig City’s mayor, detailed the city’s back-to-school program on his Facebook page, highlighting the following points:

Fitting for students began in early July and will continue well into the start of their regular classes for comprehensive coverage.

School supplies:

Distribution schedules will be announced per Pasig school, and delivery schedules will depend on the capacity of the winning suppliers. Items include:

• Pens, pencils, notebooks, writing pads, pencil caes, rulers
• Bags, umbrellas
• Leather and rubber shoes

Quezon City

The city will be distributing these QuCci bags to their QCitizen students, which will include the following per year level:

According to the city’s official Facebook page, school uniforms and supplies distribution commenced last July 27 in the city’s public schools. Distribution will be managed by the class advisers in each of their assigned classrooms.

According to the post, each Taguig student from Grades 1 to 12 will receive the following:

Male students:

• 3 polo shirts
• 2 pairs of long pants
• 2 pairs of school socks
• 1 P.E. t-shirt
• 1 jogging pants
• 3 school patches
• 1 pair of black shoes

Female students:

• 3 blouses with accessories
• 2 skirts
• 2 pairs of school socks
• 1 P.E. t-shirt
• 1 jogging pants
• 3 school patches
• 1 pair of black shoes

Transparent tote bags are also included in the kits, and students in the Grade 7 to 12 levels will also receive 1 pair of rubber shoes each.

Kinder students will receive the following uniforms:

• 3 dri-fit shirts with collar
• 2 kiddie jogging pants
• 2 sports socks
• 1 kiddie rubber shoes
• 1 transparent tote bag
