Mikael Daez Shares Glimpse of New Dad Life and "Dada Duties"

Fatherhood looks good on Mikael Daez. The actor recently gave his followers an update on his first few weeks as a dad, and every moment feels equal parts touching and amusing.

From playful K-pop gestures to spontaneous Backstreet Boys lullabies, Mikael shared a carousel of photos.

"The two doggos have been SOOOO patient and curious around the baby," Mikael wrote. "They're happy just being around him."

One photo shows Baby Daez's hand, to which Mikael wrote, "First horanghae of, what is probably going to be, a K-pop baby." For him, the baby appears to be doing the "horanghae" gesture—a hand sign popularized by Seventeen's Hoshi that means "I tiger you."

The couple are K-pop fans themselves, especially of the groups BTS and Seventeen.

In the comments, Megan added her own update on their early parenting routine, listing Mikael's current "Dada duties." She said he has taken charge of burping, diaper changes, and putting the baby to sleep. Mikael added, "And getting peed on repeatedly by the fire hose… I mean, our baby. I can't tell the difference."

Anne Curtis reacted to the post with excitement, writing, "The best feeeeeeeeling!!!!"

Another follower joked, "Puyat mode on."

Then, another congratulated Mikael and Megan, saying, "Congrats talaga Sir Mikael & Ms. Megan, lowkey winish ko rin po ito para sa inyo, finally ayan na talaga si Baby Daez."

A few days ago, the actor uploaded a Reel of their attempts to soothe their newborn through music. In the video, the Backstreet Boys play in the background.

Mikael explained, "Kanya-kanyang diskarte para mapatahan ang baby. It's been a few days now and we’re all trying to figure out what works.

"Instinctively, napunta sa BSB bigla ang lullaby repertoire ko. Si Bonez papuntang Doechii, sa tingin ko," said Mikael, giving his followers a laugh.
