  • "Wow, time flies," Rachel Peters said in reflection, referring to her stint in Miss Universe 2017, where she landed on Top 10. She's now a mom to her and her husband Migz Villafuerte's first child, a girl they've named Kaia Rose.

    Rachel recently took to Instagram to share a photo of her carrying Baby Kaia vis-a-vis a snap of her in one of her past duties as a beauty queen. She then elaborated in the caption of her November 27, 2021 post.

    "Mirror selfies now vs then," she said. "Kaia is shook- who is that lady in pink. Been getting messages and tags all day reminding me that 4 years today I got to stand on the Miss Universe stage wearing the Philippines sash (wow, time flies)."

    Rachel recalled what happened next: "Things didn’t go as planned for us then but now as I hold my baby in my arms and have taken on another great challenge & have been given the greatest honour of being this girls mum, I’ve never been so sure that everything happens for a reason."

    The beauty queen-turned-entrepreneur went on acknowledging the support she's been getting from her followers: "I’ve been reading your messages and stories throughout the day and I just wanted to send love and gratitude to all the people who motivated and held me up in 2017 and still continue to make their presence felt today.

    "You guys are the best!!!! My heart was SO full then and still is now. Love you guys."

    In her other posts, Rachel mentioned going back to her active life after giving birth on October 11. She said in the caption, "Posting this as motivation and in honour of my first workout post partum (happening tomorrow & which I am SO excited about!!).

    "I am amazed that my body grew and made the most perfect little girl, who was the size of a blueberry in this photo but Ngl I’m happy to have my body back- to lay on my stomach, eat prosciutto, to surf, do jumping jacks and to fit into my clothes again!!!"

    She added, "Jumping back on the fitness train tomorrow with absolutely no pressure and will be taking things slow so if any mamas have suggestions on what workouts I should do pls pls share your wisdom." (Read here why exercise after giving birth is essential.)

    Apparently, Rachel has adapted well to motherhood. She said in a recent post: "Took an hour to myself this morning to pump, clean some bottles, caught some rays while having a coffee, worked out, checked my messages, spent time with Migz and even had a full shabang shower."

    She pointed out, though: "Then it took me two hours to post this because Kaia literally won’t nap for more than 10 minutes on her own."
