In a recent vlog uploaded on October 15, 2022, Angelica Panganiban and fiancé Gregg Homan went on a date at the parking lot to take a break from their new normal as parents to Baby Bean.
“Nanghingi ako ng date kay Daddy Greggy, pero dahil meron kaming newborn na nandito ngayon, na favorite niya mga car rides, so siyempre hindi namin maiwan dahil wala naman kaming yaya, shared Angelica.
“Sobrang hands-on kami ni Gregg pagdating sa pag alaga sa kanya, she added. Even during their grocery runs, baby tags along with mom and dad but they choose to allow her to stay inside the car since we’re still experiencing a global pandemic.
New parents will be able to relate to Gregg and Angelica’s setup: Daddy behind the wheel, mommy in the backseat together with baby in the car seat. It may be a while before Angelica sits at the passenger seat again right, parents?
The engaged couple’s date food was simple: siomai and French fries. Gregg took the responsibility of buying their snack to which Angelica joked, they should’ve brought a candle for their date at the parking lot.
When Gregg returns to his girls, Angelica talks to the camera and their daughter sharing just how much she loves him.
“Nakikita niyo naman na mahal na mahal ko itong taong ito. Hirap na hirap siyang bitbitin yung request kong siomai.
She added, “Dead na dead talaga ako diyan,” and at this point of the vlog, the camera focuses on a photo of Gregg hanging below their car’s rearview mirror.
The new mom also gives her daughter some love advice. “Bean, maghanap ka ng ganito ha? Wag mo palang hanapin. Requirement ‘yun. Darating yun sa yo.
"Kailangan katulad ng daddy mo, ha? She added.
Breastfeeding is harder than labor
Gregg says that he and his fiancee were “surprised” at all that it entails to take care of a newborn. “Medyo surprised tayo gaano talagang ka-hirap at yung mga kailangan gawin for that, he said.
“Parang puyat na ako since six years old ako pero iba pala kung puyat ng ‘pag may inaalagaan kang, ‘pag meron kang ganoong kalaking responsibilidad.
Angelica added that she found breastfeeding to be harder than labor. “Yung breastfeeding, mas mahirap sa labor. Kasi yung labor alam mong may katapusan, she said.
“24 hours maximum siguro, tapos ka na. Matatapos at matatapos din ‘yan. ‘Yung breastfeeding—ilang taon ‘to? Ilang taon yung discipline, yung commitment, yung pain na titiisin mo para lang mapakain yung anak mo.
Angelica added, “Napakasaludo ako sa lahat ng mga padede moms dahil nakakabilib yung ginagagawa niyo.
Why Baby Bean’s face is still a secret
Towards the end of their vlog, Gregg and Angelica address their concern over fake social media accounts posing as them. Especially because these accounts are soliciting money.
Gregg makes it clear that their social media presence would never ask for money and that their family would only like to share “good vibes”.
And it’s these accounts that’s preventing the new parents from sharing their daughter’s face. “Sana mapakita namin sa inyo yung baby namin soon pero gusto namin gawin yun ‘pag wala na yung fake accounts, Angelica said.
“Dahil hindi naman namin gusto na pati yung inosenteng bata isama nila sa napaka-malisyoso nilang trip sa buhay.
Angelica added, “As much as gusto namin i-share siya sa inyo dahil proud na proud kami sa kaniya…” Gregg interrupted and said “Ipagdamot muna namin."
The new mom said she keeps Baby Bean’s face a secret till fake pages have been dealt largely for her mental health, because she would not like it if fake accounts would use their baby to fool people and solicit money.
"Hindi namin magawa dahil sobrang sasama lang yung loob namin, baka ma-trigger yung postpartum ko pag nakita ko siya sa isang fake page at ang ginagawa niya is humihingi siya ng pera sa mga inosenteng tao di ba," she said.
