For first-time parents Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano who are still learning the ropes of parenting and are very cautious because the pandemic isn't over, it was a good call to celebrate two important events at once: Luis' birthday and their daughter Isabella Rose's baptismal.
Among Baby Rosie's godparents were celebrities Nikki Gil and Alex Gonzaga, who gave meaningful messages to the couple and their baby as well.
"I pray that God will use me to impart wisdom in your parenting life." Nikki Gil
The mom of two said she understands how important it is to choose the godparents for their baby. "I'm really honored and pressured, but I pray that God will use me to impart wisdom and be of help to you as you journey in this very interesting and exciting parenting life," Nikki told Luis and Jessy.
Meanwhile, Alex, who is among Luis' closest friends, shared how she can support Baby Rosie even though she's not yet a mom herself.
"Wala naman akong maitutulong sa inyo sa parenting pa, pero pwede naman ako kung gusto niyong paiyakin yung anak niyo, kulitin." Alex Gonzaga
Talking to baby Rosie, she said, "I'm very honored and very happy that I'm one of your ninangs." She adds, "Wala naman akong maitutulong sa inyo sa parenting pa, pero pwede naman ako kung gusto niyong paiyakin yung anak niyo, kulitin." She continued, she is willing to babysit Rosie anytime. "Kung meron kayong kailangan man, I will always be praying for Baby Rosie's health, welfare."

In a previous article, a mom shared what parents should consider before choosing their child's godparents. Mom of two and education consultant Chary Mercado wrote, "Find people whose judgment you would trust, not necessarily those who would just echo what you yourself would tell your child."
She added, "I think it is okay if you choose godparents who have struggled with vices, or have made some key mistakes in their lives, as long as you are certain they recognize these as mistakes and would advise your child to do differently. Read the full article here.
Binyag essentials, according to Mama Jessy Mendiola
In her vlog, Jessy admitted that she felt "frazzled" because it was the very first event they organized for Baby Rosie.
In an Instagram story, mama Jessy shared a photo of her with all the essentials she had with her during the baptism, and new moms are taking notes.
"As a daming nakasabit mom," she captioned. "Anything to make my family comfortable," Jessy said.
1. Portable fan
If it's possible to schedule your child's baptism either early morning or late afternoon, then do it. Or else you would have to face the scorching Metro Manila heat.
As a smart mama, Jessy knew she had to bring a portable electric fan not only for Rosie, who is wearing an elaborate baptismal gown but also for Papa Luis. Jessy was using a stroller electric fan.

2. Air purifier
When they arrived at the church, one would easily spot the UV Care Pure Air portable air purifier clipped on Mama Jessy's bag, right beside Baby Rosie in Viva Magenta color.
All the guests were wearing masks, but it won't hurt to have additional protection, especially since Covid-19 is just around the corner.

3. Hip seat carrier
Since throughout the event, Jessy would be carrying her three-month-old daughter, she made sure to wear a hip seat carrier to make her life easier.
