Mariel Padilla knows a thing or two about dressing up and going all out for her children. Ever since becoming a mom, she’s often shared on her social media the various costumes and setups she’s had made or created just to satisfy her daughter’s wishes to dress up.

This time, she made sure to show up again and bring her A game for youngest daughter Gabriela’s UN Day celebration at school. “For me, being there for our children is already 50% of the job, she wrote on her Instagram caption.

“So happy I was able to do this for my Gabriela and I was able to meet the classmates she talks about all the time.

Mariel and Gabriela wore matching chartreuse dresses, both featuring terno sleeves. School visits can make parents nervous and it looks like Mariel wanted to make sure she was a star student herself for 10-minute presentation on the Philippines.

“I would like to thank my fairy godmothers na kinunsinte ang 8AM call time full glam team for my 10 minute presentation about the Philippines. Yup, Mariel had her hairstylist, makeup artist, and fashion stylist dress her for Gabriela’s UN Day Celebration with mommy. We love an involved parent!

Benefits of parental involvement in school activities

Being involved in our kids’ education is important. Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that “when parents are engaged in their children’s school activities, their children get better grades, choose healthier behaviors, and have better social skills.

According to Very Well Family, “Parent involvement in school-based activities seems to have the greatest effect on kids’ grades, but home-based parent involvement also plays at least some role.”

Not all parents may prefer to take the route Mariel took, that of working with a glam team before doing a presentation in your child’s school, but all can surely find ways to be more involved in your child’s education especially after understanding its benefits.
