Aminin, moms and dads...You've been through this situation as well. Joey is no exception. In fact, he says this is the scene almost all the time when you have a toddler.

"That's so real! Actually hindi lang nga sa changing ng diaper 'yan eh ngayon, pati kunwari 'pag lumalabas, talagang gumugulong na eh," Joey says.

The Different Roles At Home

This meme touches on the supposed role of each member of the family at home. But Joey turned a little serious when reacting to it. He says this is why his dad community DadBudPH and Smart Parenting exist—to work on challenging stereotypes that could hinder raising happy, healthy families.

Joey notes, "Hindi ko siya ma-accept. To be honest this is why we have dad community and Smart Parenting to help encourage parents not to be like this." (Watch related video here)

"If this is the way the majority of the society sees it. I think there's a chance for us to actually change it."

"Totoo 'Yan!" Joey quickly agrees. "Hindi po madali ang marriage."

"Parang Jurassic Park talaga akala mo sa labas, 'wow', it's entertainment and all that. But actually, there's a velociraptor running around, we call her 'Mom'...Just Kidding!" He's just kidding moms!

The Overthinking Wife

If you're a wife and have asked this question, Joey offers an answer on behalf of the husbands.

"Mga momshies, share ko lang sa inyo na masyado pong mataas ang expectation niyo kung iniisip niyong malalim iniisip ng mga lalaki."

He adds, "Sa totoo baka may nakalimutan lang 'yan na pinto or minsan hindi lang alam kung ano lulutuin mamayang gabi," or something about superheroes!

A friendly advice from Joey: "Minsan mababaw lang talaga iniiisip ng mga dads. So, 'wag natin i-overanalyze."

So, how do you really ask permission from your wife and get a positive response?

"'Wag natin masamain, dahil minsan inaaway mo na nga 'yung misis tapos magpapaalam ka pa."

Joey says the trick is "be a good husband, dahil kapag mabait ka madaling magpaalam sa misis mo."
