Fear can be a formidable foe that can leave us feeling stuck, paralyzed, and ready to give up. However, we can draw inspiration from Dimples Romana's experience hiking a mountain in the Andes with her 8-year-old son Alonzo.
Life is an uphill battle
In her Instagram account, Dimples shared her travel adventures in various spots in South America with her son Alonzo and husband Boyet Ahmee.

But it was her posts during the Holy Week that will pinch one’s heart the most. In a series of videos and photos, Dimples documented her and Alonzo's journey up the Rainbow Mountain in the Andes.
A quick search on Google will tell you that climbing Rainbow Mountain, standing at 17,060 above sea level, is almost the same as climbing Mt. Everest's Base Camp, making it a challenge even for experienced hikers. So to have an 8-year-old reach its peak is impressive, to say the least. But the achievement obviously did not come without challenges.

In one video, the celebrity mom and her son were shown in an emotional and exhausted state on top of Rainbow Mountain in the Andes.
"Sharing with you this precious video to show you how our kids can show courage despite adversity. (and how my dear Kuya #AlonzoRomeoJose still finds a way to have humor amidst a tough situation)," Dimples wrote.
The celebrity mom emphasized that during that day, they learned the value of not giving up and that “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the judgment that something is more important than fear.”

Dimples got more in detail about the challenges they faced and how they overcame them during the hike in another video and she opted not to sugarcoat the experience, ¨Alonzo was scared. And so was I. Maybe even more than him. But even Jesus was scared. And he prayed and prayed and still went on with his journey. He carried on.

But overcoming all those struggles was worth it after reaching the peak. Aside from soaking in the magnificent view from the top, they were gifted with a more priceless reward for displaying perseverance.

The heartwarming video serves as a poignant reminder that as parents, we have the power to help our children overcome any challenge, but only if we put our unwavering trust in their strengths and abilities.
We all know that it can be difficult for parents to be a pillar of strength for their children when they too are not immune to fear. The unknown can be scary, and parents can be afraid of seeing their children fail or be hurt.
