Kyla Gets Emotional On Son's 10th Birthday: 'Ikaw Lang Sasalo Ng Yakap At Pagmamahal Namin'

Kyla had suffered four miscarriages over the years.

Kyla couldn't help getting emotional in her birthday posts for her and her husband Rich Alvarez's son Toby Elsiah. She gave birth to their only child on May 6, 2013 via Cesarean section.

"I will never forget the first time I held you in my arms," Kyla captioned her post showing photos from Toby's birth down to his growing up years. "God gave us our miracle- our greatest gift and the biggest joy of our life."

The singer added, "God gave us a wonderful son. God gave us a son to teach empathy, kindness, and love to. A son to snuggle so he knows that an embrace is more than just something physical- that there is emotional power that comes with it.

"A son that we can remind that being vulnerable is one of the bravest things you can be. A son who will inevitably become a husband and a father one day. A son to remind that you don’t walk away or quit when life gets hard.

"A son to raise that the world can be proud of and can be proud of himself too. A son that we will always be proud of."

She then admitted, "I can’t help but cry sometimes because you’re growing up too fast. Pasensya ka na anak, kung walang humpay ang paghalik at pagyakap namin sayo araw-araw.

"Truth is we need it more than you need it. Nag-iisa ka lang kase. Wala kang choice.. ikaw lang talaga ang sasalo ng lahat ng yakap at pagmamahal namin."

Kyla suffered four miscarriages the past years, the fourth in 2022 being "unimaginable." But she remains optimistic knowing that "things will be okay in the end" (read here).

She went on telling her only child, "Please don’t forget that we are your protector and your biggest fans. We are your silent prayer warriors, praying to God always, asking His sovereignty over your life.

"We are so lucky and blessed to have you. Happy birthday, anak. There’s no limit to how much we love you."

Two days after Kyla made her birthday post for Toby, she again greeted her son on social media. This time, she used a photo of them shot a few years back, "I smile whenever I'd see your baby pictures pop up on my phone screen. And then my heart breaks a little.

"I wish I could go back. I wish I could go back and carry you just a little bit longer. I wish I could squeeze your chubby little cheeks as you ask me all the million questions that you have, in your tiny voice, just one more time."

She added, "I can’t believe you’re 10 now. How and where has time gone? But no matter what, no matter how big you get, i’ll always remember you as this little boy in the picture. Even though your hands and feet are bigger than mine now."

She ended her post with this promise: "You’ll be my little boy forever."
