Tantrums often happen because kids find it challenging to manage their frustrations. A parent's job is to help her child control or regulate his emotions.

You probably have your technique on how to deal with tantrums. The Bacarro family, featured on Smart Parenting's digital cover, shared theirs on the family's vlog.

Saab Magalona-Bacarro shared footage of 2-year-old Vito losing his temper over his toy. Saab quickly but calmly called out Vito's behavior, telling her son he was having "bad energy." (Notice she did not say he was being bad.)

She then shares her most important tip when dealing with tantrums: encourage the toddler to use their words when expressing themselves.

"I encourage Vito to use his words so that he can communicate better," Saab says.

Saab patiently teaches Vito how he can express what he wants and what words to use before handing him the toy. Two things we picked up from Saab: (1) approach the situation calmly and (2) help them express their frustration better through words.

In the same vlog, Saab shared some behind-the-scenes from their photoshoot for the Smart Parenting digital cover. The Bacarro family definitely rocked it, right?
