There are times when it’s hard to explain to others why moms are always running out of time on their hands. 'Ano ba’ng ginagawa mo maghapon? ‘Di ba nasa bahay ka lang naman? Madali lang yan.' These are the comments moms usually hear from others, as soon they say they need some me-time or they simply want to rest.

Son Ye Jin opens up about motherhood
Lo and behold, even K-drama queen Son Ye Jin can relate. The Crash Landing On You star opened up about her life as a mom at a recent event in Taiwan.
“Honestly, I barely have any time to myself now. Most of my time is spent with my family," she shared. Son Ye Jin continued, "Aside from the time I spend exercising and taking care of myself, the little time I get when my child is sleeping during the day or night is precious. During those moments, I catch up on TV shows or simply rest.”

Son Ye Jin shares glimpses of motherhood on social media
The South Korean actress has also started sharing glimpses of her motherhood journey on her Instagram account that delight her fans.
In a recent post, Son Ye Jin shared photos of how she spent her weekend with her family. She wrote in the caption, “How was everyone's weekend? Starting back up tomorrow! [heart emojis] Fighting!” She was sitting on a picnic mat, with lots of mom stuff: a stroller that looks exactly like ours complete with an eco bag and iced coffee. The picnic mat was also filled with takeout food and its packaging. She didn't even try to make their picnic look aesthetic, with all the usual mess parents have with kids.

Son Ye Jin and her son during a picnic
It feels like it was only yesterday when everyone gushed over Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin becoming real-life lovers. After their record-breaking K-Drama Crash Landing on You was released in 2019, fans and netizens closely followed their relationship from dating to marriage and now, parenting. The couple remains private about their family life, especially with their son. Son Ye Jin's statement in Taiwan is actually one of the few ones she shared about their private life.
Recently, the #BinJin couple made netizens ‘kilig’ again, as much ‘kilig’ we felt in CLOY. Their photo together watching a baseball game is so simple, yet it made us all feel, “Sana all nahanap na ang true love!”
Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin tied the knot in March 2022. They welcomed their first son, Alkong, in November of the same year.

It's true: Moms barely have enough time for themselves
It may be a simple statement, but moms felt seen and validated! That’s what we feel most of the time! And to hear Son Ye Jin sharing the same thing reminds us that it’s okay to feel that way.
Sometimes we, truly, barely have any time for ourselves. Whether working moms, stay-at-home moms, or moms working at home, we all felt the same way, one way or another. Some days, all our tasks and responsibilities overwhelm us and we feel overwhelmed. “When did I last change our bed sheets?” “Did I give too much screen time to my child?” “When is my child’s next vaccination appointment?” “The internet bill is due tomorrow, did I pay already?” “There’s this work thing that’s also due tomorrow, when will I do it?” That’s how a mom’s mind works every single day.

Self-Care Is Essential for Moms
As Son Ye Jin said, even though she has little time left for herself, she makes sure that it counts. She takes time to exercise and work out. And again, like most of us, uninterrupted sleep and peaceful naps become a luxury that we cannot easily give to ourselves. She describes this time as “precious” as she does the things that she wants after a long day, like catching up on her favorite TV shows or simply rest. That's why, sleep and alone time are undoubtedly what moms really, really want to receive on Mother's Day, year after year (aside from cash, that is).
You deserve to take that me-time, moms! Self-care is essential, even if it’s only for a few minutes. Unsure how to take the first step to self-care?
