Felize Turns 1! McCoy Marks Daughter's First Birthday With A Heartwarming Message

Elisse Joson and McCoy De Leon are celebrating their firstborn Felize McKenzie's first birthday!

On Sunday, April 10, 2022, McCoy shared a video of him and Elisse singing happy birthday to their bungisngis baby...or should we say soon-to-be toddler now?

Along with the adorable home video, the Pinoy Big Brother alumna penned a heartfelt birthday greeting for his daughter.

"Simpleng mensahe para sa aking anak"

McCoy dedicated a message to mark this joyful moment as a first-time parent. "Alam ko mayron tayong selebrasyon at bakasyon sa malayong lugar para mapasaya ka namin anak.

"Pero gusto ko lang rin malaman mo na ngayon eksaktong oras ng kaarawan mo. Naghanda ako ng munting salo salo para mapasaya ka namin sa simpleng paraan, walang ayos, walang kahit ano," the celebrity dad wrote.

McCoy, 27, also expressed how much being a father to Felize brings so much joy to his life.

"Basta ngayon anak kumpleto tayo kasama ka namin ng mommy mo, maniwala ka man sa hindi masayang masaya na ako, sobra na kung makita ka naming nakangiti (na dalawa pa ring maliliit na ipin)."

The doting dad adds, "Salamat sa mga ngiti mo tuwing naipapakita mong masaya ka sa amin, parang kami ang laging ang may kaarawan. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko matutumbasan yun anak."

As per his gift, McCoy vowed to give unending love to his child saying, "Ang tanging regalo ko sa ngayon anak ay pagmamahal na panghabang-buhay. Pangako 'yan."

Felize's arrival

Elisse, 26, chose to keep her pregnancy with Felize private until she and McCoy introduced their baby to the public last October 31, 2021.

The couple revealed the news on Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10, where they asked "Kuya" to be the godfather of their daughter.

Since then, the first-time parents have been more open to sharing Felize's photos and milestones—from her first beach trip, playdates, being able to eat solid food, and more!

Last February 2022, they celebrated Felize's baptism with the most enchanting reception theme.

Developmental Milestones At 1 Year

Marking a child's first year is definitely a meaningful and exciting time for parents. Parents have witnessed their children's motor, cognitive, and social skills improve at this stage.

As they master these skills, they'll be able to acquire some independence. This is when you'll likely start to notice their distinct personality emerge.

Motor or Physical Development Milestones:

• Shows eagerness to walk: Pulls himself up to stand and able to hold on to furniture as he walks.
• With assistance, able to drink from a cup without a cover.
• Able to pick up small objects using the thumb and pointer finger.

Cognitive and Language Milestones

• Looks for anything you've hidden, such as a toy under a blanket.
• Can greet or wave good bye
• Able to addressing a parent as "mama," "dada," or other endearing term
• Responds when you say "no"
