5 Reasons Why We Think Cong TV Is Going To Be A Great Dad

YouTube content creators Lincoln "Cong TV" Velasquez and his partner Viy Cortez cannot contain their excitement to become parents of Baby Kidlat.

That's why followers and subscribers of their vlogs are happy to watch their updates, which recently have become more focused on their journey towards parenthood.

To complement Viy's dedication to becoming a great mom to Kidlat, based on what we've been seeing and with the reactions from their followers, here are five reasons why we think Cong TV is going to be a great dad.

1. He asks questions

Recently, Viy posted a vlog where she gave Cong a detailed orientation on what's inside their hospital bag. 

An eager Cong asked honest questions like, "Papaliguan ba siya agad?" and "Nireregla kaagad pagkatapos manganak?"

Asking questions is perfectly normal for moms and dads-to-be, as this is also the norm in the Smart Parenting Village, our private Facebook group for parents.

Viy explained to Cong the contents of the bag that he needs to hand to the nurse when she delivers Baby Kidlat.

It contains clothes, mittens, socks, bonnet, receving blanket, 2 diapers, and a baby abdominal binder. Although Viy knows that abdominal binders are no longer used on infants, she added it just in case the nurse would use it.

2. He shows that he is a good husband

In a recent TikTok video that Cong posted, netizens praised him for singing a song to help put his pregnant girlfriend to sleep.

3. He puts his wife and child first

Last month, Cong was also lauded by netizens for dropping his Vietnam flight to be with Viy. "Gustong gusto ko sana sumama tsaka maglakbay pero tsaka na lang siguro, pag kasama ko na kayong dalawa," he said in his vlog that has more than more than 6 million views to date. 

A study backs Cong's move, saying that the father's involvement during pregnancy is very important, “The role of a man during pregnancy is to be present, to support, to understand, to be patient, and to have sympathy for the woman carrying his child.”

4. He cares about his baby's health and safety

In Viy's recent vlog, she revealed Cong's greatest fear: "Natatakot siya mapagpalit yung anak namin."

Although Viy assured her that babies will not be placed together in the hospital where she will give birth, Cong detailed what he's going to do to ensure that babyswitching will not happen.

"Paglabas palang, pipicturean ko na mga nunal at balat [niya] kung meron. Pipicturean ko all sides. Tatandaan ko na itsura ng mukha niya. Baka magkamali ng iabot sa akin. Di mo masasabi eh," he said.

Cong also warns those their friends and family who will be visiting Kidlat.

"Ngayon palang inaabisuhan ko na yung mga bibisita na lolo't lola, bawal i-kiss. Wala muna pong mag-ki-kiss kasi ako mismo hindi ako hahalik," he said.

Cong is correct. Parents of a baby in Iowa, USA speculate that their baby contracted a strain of the herpes virus through an infected person's kiss.

5. He is keen on letting Kidlat be his own person

Cong already bought his first pamana to Baby Kidlat - an expensive Martin & Co. guitar worth P288,000.

When asked what he aspires Baby Kidlat to be, he said, "Matugtog niya lang yung ‘Happy Birthday’ (song) nang maayos, masaya na ako!"

He adds, "Mahirap na pangunahan sila sa bagay na iyan. Basta lumaking maayos at hindi nagbibisyo."

'Ready na ako'

After the orientation with Viy, Cong said he is ready for Baby Kidlat. "Ready na ako bago manganak. Yung paglabas, hindi ko alam."
