Since Kris Bernal announced that she and her husband Perry Choi are going to be parents for the first time (read here), the actress has been giving an update on her pregnancy journey.
"Now more than ever, I’ve realized how important is the role of women in our lives," Kris wrote on Instagram in early March in time for the celebration of the National Women's Month.
"As a soon-to-be-mom, there's a sense of renewal and hope, making it a beautiful time to reflect while starting a new chapter in my life and realizing more of God’s purpose to me as a woman."
Kris pointed out, "We are amazing. Our bodies are divine. I still can’t believe I’m growing a human inside me. My waistline began to expand. My breasts continue to grow and change.
"I've also observed that my armpits and knees have darkened. White spots and stretch marks have started to appear. WHOAAA! The drastic changes physically and emotionally! But deadma, I know it's all going to be worth it!"
She added, "I want to take this opportunity to uplift all mothers and appreciate them for trying their best to nurture their families. Here’s a little reminder that all of your sacrifices never go unnoticed."
In another post, in which Kris shares several shots of her looking pretty in pink with a little bump, she got real with how she really feels being pregnant: "Felt cute. Might throw up later."
She explained, "Honestly, pregnancy does not look as cute in real life as it does on IG, at least not for me! Thanks to nausea! I'm in my second trimester, but I still experience nausea all day, every day."
She then posed this questions to her followers: "What's your go-to remedy to fight morning sickness?"
Here are some ways to ease morning sickness, according to moms who've experienced it and shared with Smart Parenting.
1. Go for bland foods that are easier to digest, such as gelatin, frozen desserts, broth, and saltine crackers.
2. Eat small meals, instead of three full meals every day.
3. Keep hydrated by drinking lots of water and other fluids.
4. Try taking a vitamin B supplement, which, studies have shown, could curb morning sickness.
5. Drink ginger tea because ginger promote the secretion of various digestive enzymes that help neutralize stomach acid.
6. Give lemon a try. Aside from adding a squeeze of lemon in your ginger tea, you can also take a whiff of the fruit's rind to make you feel better.
7. Relax and get some air. This can help calm your nerves, clear your mind, and hopefully ease your nausea.

Kris also mentioned about moodiness while pregnant, going from "being happy one minute to feeling like crying the next." She then confessed, "I'm at my most sensitive, I can actually become a great actor."
She added, "But, despite these hormonal and dramatic changes in my life, there is something about pregnancy that makes me feel so badass, powerful, strong, confident, beautiful, and capable.
"To all the moms-to-be in every circumstance, all our feelings are valid and know that you're not alone. You are doing better than you think you are!"
