When news of Song Joong Ki’s news of soon-to-be daddy status broke, fans were overjoyed and interest over his baby mama was through the roof. Naturally the rumor mill also went on its own course and Joong Ki admits that there were rumors that angered him. Particularly, it was the rumor that his wife Katy Louise Saunders is a single mother.
“At first, I was fine. It was an everyday occurrence for us, and even if many people know about it, our love wouldn’t change. But then, when the nonsensical stories kept growing, I got angry honestly. Except for the name of the university that she attended (Milan Bocconi University), none of the rumors were true, he says to GQ Korea as reported by Soompi.
But she was also the first to remind him that he did not need to be angry at the rumors. “When my anger was growing, Katy told me, ‘You don’t have to be angry with these people.’ I can’t say much about it here, but she is that kind of a person. She guides me toward a positive direction and balances me out, he said.

As is customary for most Korean celebrities, they are staunchly protective of their private lives. Which likely explains how Joong Ki and his wife came to share their happy news. Joong Ki says that their wedding day was quite a busy day for him.
“That day, I registered our marriage and went straight to the script reading and gosa (a traditional Korean ritual to pray for good luck when starting a big event) site for the film ‘My Name is Loh Kiwan.’ Katy and I had a late dinner together after finishing work. That day was really hectic.
Joong Ki did share to GQ Korea a bit of who his wife is to him. He says, “If I had to explain what kind of a person Katy is, I can tell you lots of stories about what a nice person she is. But since today’s interview is limited in time and space, I won’t be able to tell you everything. Simply put, she is a friend who gives me trust in many aspects.
He adds, “For example, there are thoughts and philosophies that I usually have, and she is a woman who reconvinces me that they are correct. [She is] a friend who often tells me, ‘That sounds like you.'"
