  • Being locked up inside our homes 24/7 could drive us up the wall, as many of us who are on community quarantine due to the COVID-19 situation now know.

In times like these, boredom, worry, fear, and loneliness could all mess around with our minds and cause us to feel lethargic, anxious, sad, or irritable. Worse, we might take out all these ill feelings towards our loved ones who are stuck, like us, at home. The one likely to bear the brunt, of course, is your better half.

Before you and your spouse get on each other's nerves, why not take your cue from this couple who channelled their energies into something positive and productive? Believe it or not, Collin and Hildy Allin, from Dubai, ran a full marathon — yes, 42 kilometers — inside their home.

"We did it ... #balconymarathon and well done to @karoodaisy for her first marathon ever.. haha.. Thank you for all the love and support for doing something silly... was great to have you all along for the ride," Collin wrote on Instagram. He and Hildy ran a total of 42.2 kilometers in and around their apartment.

To achieve that, they raced around their 20-meter-long balcony 2,100 times. According to Collin, it was Hildy's first marathon ever, though she is a multi-sport athlete and coach. Collin's Instagram bio indicates he works as the brand manager of Oakley sports apparel.

"What a lot of fun we had .. Congratulations to @karoodaisy for finishing her first every marathon and to Geena for being a great race director and also running 5km with us," wrote Collin.
