You (or your kids) might have pushed back your dental checkups because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but with more dental clinics opening under the general community quarantine (GCQ) you might be considering booking an appointment soon. You might also be wondering what to expect on your visit.
The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has allowed the operation of dental clinics but with strict health protocols. For this reason, you might also expect higher fees or a price increase for dental services.
“Most dentists nowadays had to invest heavily on air purifying systems, UV light sterilization, disposables that were not used before in previous protocols… That means extra overhead expenses for the dentist to cover up for the treatment procedures,” says Dr. Francis Paraiso, a doctor of dental medicine.
“Those added expenses are of course in pursuit of handing over better care for the patient,” he adds.
Watch the video below for a walkthrough of how your next dental appointment will look like. Remember to follow these protocols to ensure not only your safety but the safety of your dentist as well.
