Vanessa Matsunaga Shares Her Secret To Keep Her Home Smelling GoodThe model and mom of two is partial to the thieves and lemon mixture.by Jocelyn Valle .
Vanessa Matsunaga describes herself as a germophobe, or someone who has an extreme fear of germs and an obsession with cleanliness. That’s why she practically showers with alcohol and never leaves the house without a small bottle of alcohol in her bag to use for disinfection purposes wherever she goes.
When she’s out, Vanessa is careful about touching surfaces, opening doors, and the like, and she makes sure her husband, Jun Sunga, and their two kids, Isabella and David, do the same. Isabella turns 4 on March 11, 2020, and David will be almost one year and 5 months by then.
“I’m a crazy mom,” she told SmartParenting.com.ph at the Young Living essential oils event, grinning. “In the house, of course we know everything is clean, so the kids are more free to do what they want. But when we’re in public spaces, I don’t like them touching whatever. That’s a no-no.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
The model and mom of two was recently introduced by her sister-in-law to essential oils, which she now diffuses to keep their family residence extra clean as these plant-extracted compounds release cleansing molecules into the air that purify it. There are additional benefits like stress relief, improved sleep, decongestion and mucus control, and good smell.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
“Ever since I started using it, I saw a lot of improvement,” she pointed out. “It boosts immunity. I’m a sucker for anything that smells good and I really believe in the natural healing that comes with it.”
Vanessa added that her sister-in-law has also taught her how to mix essential oils. At the event, she checked out the whole range of varieties and their uses, but confessed that she remains partial to her favorite thieves blend. Its ingredients are clove, cinnamon bark, rosemary, lemon, and eucalyptus radiata.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
“The only thing that I use for my kids are thieves and lemon,” she said on her usual mixture. “I put it in the diffuser with a small amount, and it usually lasts for hours. I really feel that it helps improve my kids' condition whenever they have colds, or whenever they’re not feeling so well.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
