Parents React To Adam Levine's Alleged Affair: 'A Reminder That Every Person Is Subject To Temptations'

"If "Happy ever after" did exist," and other lines from Maroon 5 hits are making rounds on social media after allegations surface that Adam Levine has been cheating on his wife.

On September 16, Behati Prinsloo debuted her baby bump, her third child with the Maroon 5 frontman. She captioned it, "Recent," with a fairy emoji. Her followers celebrated with her.

A few days after, a model named Sumner Stroh comes forward on TikTok, exposing screenshots of her conversation with Adam. 

She said, "she was having an affair with a man who's married to a Victoria's Secret model" for about a year. They stopped communicating for a few months, and she was shocked when Adam came back to her to ask a "serious question."

"I'm having another baby and if it's [a] boy, I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious," the message that allegedly came from Adam read.

Sumner's revelation now has over 20 million views, "I'm not the one who's really getting hurt here, it's Behati and her children, and for that, I'm so, so sorry."

Adam Levine responds to an alleged affair

To "clear the air," Adam has responded through an Instagram story post.

He said he didn't have an affair, but he admits he crossed the line.

He added, he regrets the mistake that he did and that they will get through this together. 

Sumner, on an Instagram story, posted a cryptic message possibly in response to Adam's statement: "Someone get this man a dictionary."

Fans of Maroon 5 including parents are furious about the news, especially that Behati is pregnant.

We asked parents from the Smart Parenting community about their reactions to Adam and Behati's situation.

Regina Layug Rosero, a mom of one, meanwhile shared that while Adam seemed to enjoy fatherhood, it seems like he's fallen hard into someone else.

"While that's terrible in a monogamous relationship, and there's no telling how long the feeling will last, I honestly think, if you want to sleep with someone you're not married to, maybe you should consider discussing the possibility of an open relationship or even polyamory with your spouse first. Just a thought," she said.

To be polyamorous means to have open intimate or romantic relationships with more than one person at a time, according to Very Well Mind.

Mommy Magen Domingo, a solo parent and a member of the Smart Parenting Mom Squad, said that she can relate to Behati. She cannot even begin to comprehend how traumatic the experience could be for her.

"I'm not sure what Adam and Behati decide for the sake of them and their family, but I do know that it would leave a lasting scar on her. I hope that never happens to a woman."

Mommy Ena Dizon shared her thoughts as a wife. "Marriage must be an unrelenting commitment to an imperfect person. Having an affair with another woman brings misery on so many levels. It brings the husband shame. It betrays your legacy as a father. It shows your children that your personal pleasure is more important than anything else."

Mommy Victoria Dang, who is 28 weeks pregnant with her second child, has a message for Behati and other pregnant moms who might be in a stressful situation right now.

"I believe that all mamas are more capable than we thought we could be, even in the most vulnerable time of our life. Being pregnant alone is a challenge, so having a solid support system is necessary. If any other challenges come to you or your family, such as this, I’d pray that you’d find inner peace and wisdom to do what’s best for you and your children. You’ll get through this because you are tough, and you are amazing!"

Mommy Love Cosio meanwhile said that this news is a reminder for everyone that every person is subject to earthly temptations. 

"We cannot stand to play with fire. We cannot give temptation 1% chance because before we know it, it has consumed us 100%," she said.

For Daddy Dreus Cosio, we should check not just who's wrong or right. "Couples really need to be open to each others needs. Giving and receiving. Be open to each others wounds and temptations too."

For couples, Mommy Love shared some tips. "Instead of spending time giving attention to others, make it part of your daily checklist to be busy loving your spouse. Focus on building and fulfilling each other's love jar and needs."

"Don't look for 10% that is lacking in your spouse. Instead, focus on the 90% that they have and complement it.

She adds, no one is perfect, and marriage is a vow that has to be renewed every day. "Marriage is sacred. Protect it at all costs."

Daddy Dreus adds, "You can goal success, business, and hobbies. You can begin to goal a happy marriage too. Decide to be on the same page. Be intentional to begin making your marriage work. It will be worth it. You are made for it."
