Last Tuesday, June 15, 2021, Aiko Melendez posted a photo of herself wearing what she calls "always loving simple and comfy clothes" to purportedly thank the sponsor of her designer shirt.
But the 45-year-old actress and mom of two didn't expect her friends and followers on the social media platform to notice more how slimmer and younger looking she is. In fact, a lot of them said they mistook Aiko for Aiko's daughter Marthena Jickain, 14, who has an older brother named Andre Yllana, 22.
As Aiko's colleague RR Enriquez put it: "Wow akala ko si baby girl mo!" Fellow actresses Lara Quigaman and Gladys Reyes were likewise awed. Lara gave this description:"Fresh!" and Gladys said, "Batang-bata."
Visibly overwhelmed, Aiko posted a close-up version of her photo the following day. She said in the caption, "Thank you for making me trend yesterday and for the wonderful comments."
Aiko also tagged her sponsors to explain how she got her slimmed down figure and improved looks. She said she gets food delivery that goes in the line of keto and vegetarian choices. Plus, she's doing regular exercises at home and taking a cacao drink "to keep me healthy and younger looking," as well going to a beauty clinic.

Aiko pointed out, "I'm happy to inspire a lot of people who almost gave up on their weight loss journey. It is never too late."
She added, "So sa lahat ng nag-message sa akin, salamat! Mahirap pero kung gugustuhin, kakayanin na 'ten 'yan! Good luck on your weight loss journey! And yes wala po ako make up!"
