Jodi Sta. Maria, Pampi Lacson’s Marriage Annulled After 13-Yr Wait

After 13 long years of waiting, celebrity mom Jodi Sta. Maria received the news she had been praying for: the Supreme Court has granted her petition for the nullity of her marriage to Pampi Lacson.

In an emotional Instagram post this Sunday, June 9, 2024, Jodi opens up about going through an over a decade of waiting for her annulment and how it has revealed some of the depths of her vulnerabilities and the strength of her faith.

"Finally, after 13 years of waiting, my petition for nullity of marriage has been granted by the Supreme Court. It was indeed a test of faith and trust—faith in God’s promises and trust in God’s timing," Jodi wrote.

Jodi candidly describes the emotional rollercoaster she faced during this period. It wasn’t just a legal battle but also a deeply personal and spiritual one. "The time I spent in His waiting room was never easy nor comfortable. It was frustrating, discouraging, and even heartbreaking. I cried, prayed, questioned, and complained. I made 'tampo,' asked for forgiveness, prayed some more. I wanted to give up, but He never let go of me," she confessed.

Reflecting on her journey, Jodi emphasized the importance of faith in overcoming her struggles. "Looking back, it was His grace that sustained and carried me. He had a purpose for the waiting. And that purpose was made clear to me by the Lord," she shared.

Jodi also has a message for those who could relate to feeling of being in a seemingly never-ending waiting game. She encourages others who find themselves in this similar situation, saying, "When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen. - Isaiah 60:22. God is never in a hurry. He is never too late, never too early. Believe He is able to do something about your situation. Trust He has a plan for you, and that plan is even better than the one you have for yourself."

She also expressed gratitude to all that supported her during this lengthy journey. Jodi ends her post with, "Now I can finally say…CASE CLOSED."

Jodi On Facing Failed Marriage

In a 2022 interview with Karen Davila, Jodi revealed the emotional weight she felt following her failed marriage. "It’s something that happened in my life that I can say is one of the most painful," she said. "You don’t enter into a commitment or covenant just for it to break, right? So during that time when my marriage didn’t work out, I felt like I was the biggest failure, the biggest joke."

The single mom has also opened up about how the failed marriage affected how she viewed herself as a mother, "You know, that’s how I felt, that I had feelings of shame, of guilt, like, 'Shocks, it’s embarrassing. Like, I couldn’t fix this. I couldn’t give Thirdy a complete family. What am I going to do?' So during that time, I felt so low, so down, and lost, and depressed."

But despite all these, the actress worked through the hardships. Now, Jodi's personal healing has been her greatest push to providing her son a harmonious blended family. Despite the end of her marriage, she has maintained a positive relationship with her ex-husband and Pampi’s partner, Iwa Moto.
