Regine Velasquez On Kilig-Filled 11-Year Marriage With Ogie Alcasid: ‘I’m His No. 1 Fan’

Regine Velasquez hasn't lost her kilig with her fellow singer and actor Ogie Alcasid, whom she married on December 22, 2010 at a beach resort in Nasugbu, Batangas.

That enviable element in the power couple's marriage elicited wonder and admiration from Regine's co-judge in the "Reina ng Tahanan" segment of It's Showtime, Ruffa Gutierrez.

Ruffa narrated in the November 16, 2021 episode of ABS-CBN's noontime show while bantering with main host Vice Ganda, "Bago ko sagutin ’yung question, tawang-tawa lang ako. Kami, we’re just doing our own thing here, wala lang. Si Ate Regine, tawang-tawa sa joke ni Kuya Ogie. Ilang beses akong tumitingin sa kanya."

Ogie, who used to sit as a judge in the singing competion of It's Showtime, was recently made into a regular host.

Ruffa went on saying that she asked Regine, "How many years na kayong married?’ To which Regine replied: "Eleven."

Ruffa told the audience, "Ang sarap, di ba? Still kilig. Super grabe ang halakhak n’ya."

Then, Regine declared, what could be one of the reasons behind her lasting marriage: "I’m his number one fan."

Regine's social media followers know as the iconic singer, dubbed as The Songbird, usually posts photos and videos of Ogie or of them together, and sometimes with their 10-year-old son, Nate.

One of Regine's Instagram posts shows Ogie, in his pajamas, doing what Regine calls in her caption, "Morning dance." She then added this line: "Wala, tapos na ang araw ko."

For his part, Ogie shares not just funny but also romantic posts. An example was last November 11, a day when shopping sites offer big promos.

The multi-talented showbiz figure, also known as The Songwriter, said in the caption, "To many, 11/11 is about the adding to cart frenzy. But for us as a couple, it is the day we celebrate the day we fell in love and the day we moved into our home 14 years ago."

He added, "We were younger then and we wouldn’t have known that indeed God still had to mould us into what we are today. And like everybody else, still learning and growing with the Lord.

"Ty Dear Jesus for sustaining us through our ups and downs and our many sideways. To the love of my life, everyday is a wonderful beginning with you. Happy 11/11. I love you my Regine."
