Korean actor Song Joong-Ki and his wife, British actress Katy Louise Saunders, are pregnant with their second child.
In an article by The Korea Times published on July 8, an official from his agency, High Zium Studio, was cited to share the news, "Song Joong-Ki's wife, Katy Louise Saunders, is pregnant with their second child."
"It is difficult to confirm the timing of the birth or the gender of the child because it is a private part," the announcement added.

Song Joong-Ki announced his marriage and their first pregnancy with Saunders in January 2023, where he said in a letter to a fan blog that he's sharing "a promise that is more happy and valuable to me than anything." He added, "I have promised to continue life together with Katy Louise Saunders, who has been by my side supporting me and who I have spent valuable time with while cherishing each other."
Saunders, who is a year older than Song Joong-Ki has starred in several Italian movies, was described by her husband as someone who has a kind heart and has lived her life passionately. Song Joong-Ki said, "Thanks to her, I am becoming a better person. We naturally dreamed of creating a happy family together. We have put in much effort to keep each other’s promises, and we are sincerely thankful as a new life has come to us."
In February 2023, Song Joong-Ki addressed rumors that his wife is a single mother.
The couple welcomed their first child, a boy, in June 2023 in Rome, Italy. He wrote in another letter to his fans, "Here, in my wife’s hometown of Rome, we happened to welcome our baby. It’s a healthy son.. and both the baby and his mother… are in very good health. As we welcomed [our child] in good health and joy, I am taking care of my family very happily, with a grateful heart."

During the premiere of his film, Hopeless, Song Joong-Ki was quoted by The Korea Times saying this about fatherhood, "It's my first baby, and we're both first-time parents. I didn't realize how quickly a baby grows. I want to stay by the baby's side and become a good person."
Song Joong-Ki had been married to his Descendants of the Sun leading lady Song Hye-kyo in 2017 up until their divorce in 2019.
