Valerie Concepcion, Husband Are Expecting Their First Child. Her Panganay Is 18!

Valerie Concepcion just announced that she is pregnant with her first child with her non-showbiz husband, Francis Sunga.

The actress shared the good news on May 13, a day before Mother's Day.

"One is great, two is fun, so why not add another one?" she captioned her photos that showed her baby bump and sonogram.

Valerie's first child Heather, whom she had at age 16, turned 18 last November. Francis also has a daughter. They got married in December 2019.

On Mother's Day, Valerie penned a longer message, where she said their baby on the way is their "little answered prayer."

"Mother’s Day this year is extra blissful for me because God has given us our litte answered prayer. My husband and I are very grateful for this very precious gift and we couldn’t be any happier sharing this news." She added, "THANK YOU LORD for making our lives extra wonderful, special and exciting.  We’re so blessed to have our growing family. This is the best mother’s day gift ever!"

Valerie joins other moms who became pregnant after a long gap, like mamas Danica Pingris, who got pregnant with her third child Jean Luc after 10 years, and Dimples Romana, who got pregnant with her third child Elio after eight years. 

Bettinna Carlos also got pregnant with her second child after 12 years.

Valerie has openly shared her struggles as a young, solo parent.

In a 2019 interview in Magandang Buhay, Valerie shared how she "Kung wala akong aasahan, kailangan sa sarili ko, magtrabaho na ako. Kasi may buhay na akong susuportahan e. So, automatic, 'yung mother's instinct ko lumabas." Read the article here.
