Netizens were quick to shower praise on AZ, with many pointing out the striking similarity between AZ and her mom. Comments include:
“Wow galing!! Parang younger version mo din!”
“Mini me mo talaga Ate Yas.”
“Ikaw na ikaw nakikita ko Yasmien, hahahaha [heart emojis]. I love it.”
Yasmien started her own showbiz journey by joining the artista search StarStruck in 2003, and she has been transparent about Ayesha’s growing interest in the entertainment industry. In an interview with GMA News Online, Yasmien shared that Ayesha has been dropping subtle hints about wanting to follow in her mother’s footsteps.
“Tingnan natin kapag nakapag-aral siya, OK lang naman sa akin, wala namang problema kung magiging artista din si Ayesha,” Yasmien said at the time.
This is not the first time Ayesha has wowed audiences with her talents. Last May, she clinched the first-place title in her school’s singing contest. Moreover, Ayesha has also shown her versatility with an impressive piano recital last April.
New baby
Last November, the actress and her husband, Rey Soldevilla, announced that they are expecting their second child. Yasmien wrote in the post, “We’ve been keeping a little secret for awhile. Baby No. 2 [soon] this 2024!”
Benefits of performing arts for kids
Beyond the spotlight, involving kids in performing arts offers long-term benefits. Research shows that kids who engage in singing, dancing, acting, or playing instruments are more likely to excel in school, fostering enhanced cognitive, motor, and social development.
Here are other benefits performing arts have on kids:
Quick thinking: Performing arts harness the ability to think on one’s feet, as kids learn to improvise in unexpected situations, minimizing errors and getting back on track.
Anxiety management: Early exposure to performing in front of an audience helps kids cope with performance jitters, a valuable skill for their future.
Boost in self-esteem: The immediate positive feedback from a cheering crowd during or after a performance provides a rewarding experience, boosting a child’s self-esteem.
