LOOK: Andi, Philmar, Family Visit A Castle In France For 'Princess' Lilo To 'See A Dragon'

While on a trip to France, Andi Eigenmann, her fiancé PhilmarAlipayo, and their blended family have been exploring the coastal town of Hendaye in the French Basque Country.

Aside from Andi's brood of three—her eldest child Ellie and her and Philmar's kids Lilo and Koa—they are joined by Philmar's son Kanoa, who's based in France.

Andi shared a few snaps from their sightseeing, as she calls in her post, "touristy things." She went on relating that Philmar brought them "to see a beautiful castle with a beautiful view."

The actress and mom of three commended the surfing champ for making "a good tour guide." But added a caution, "Just don't believe anything he says."

Andi also explained why they ended up in a castle: "Coming here was Lilo's request. She dreams of becoming a princess, but funny that she wanted to visit a castle, not to see a real-life royal, but to go and see... a dragon."

Many of Andi's social media followers found Lilo so funny that the 3-year-old girl made them laugh. Andi's sister Stevie Eigenmann, commented, "Lilo and I have the SAME LIFE GOALS!!!!"

Why traveling is good for your kids

Travel has "a very positive impact on students' personal development," according to the findings of a survey commissioned by the Student and Youth Travel Association (SYTA) and reported by Travel + Leisure. SYTA is non-profit organization that caters to student and youth travel service providers.

This is what 74% of the 1,500 US-based teachers interviewed in the survey said. Half of them also agreedthat “travel has a very positive impact on students’ education and career."

The teachers also observed that students who have had the chance to travel are more respectful, tolerant, and willing to learn and try new things. Moreover, well-traveled kids display increased independence, self-esteem, and confidence. They have better adaptability and sensitivity to others, plus they were also more outgoing than kids who stayed at home.

There's another benefit of travel for leisure on brain development, according to Dr. Margot Sunderland, a child psychotherapist and director of Education and Training at The Centre for Child Mental Health in the UK.

She said in an article for The Telegraph, “What is less widely known is that holidays can also advance brain development in children."
