Gary V Shares What He Will 'Never Get Used To' As Dad To Kiana, And Celeb Parents Agree

Gary Valenciano turned nostalgic in one of his recent Instagram posts, which shows a photo of him and his daughter Kiana.

"She was up most of the night packing," the iconic singer and songwriter wrote in the caption, referring to his sleeping grown-up child. "As a parent there are things I simply will never get used to; seeing my children head back to where they’re meant to be."

Gary and his wife Angeli Pangilinan have three children: concert director Paolo, 38; performer Gabriel, 34; and singer Kiana, 30. Paolo is married to Samantha Godinez, with whom he has a toddler and a newborn (read here).

The total performer known as Mr. Pure Energy went on sharing his innermost feelings: "I’ve gone through this many times before but it still tugs at my heart just the same. I love and miss you already my princess. God be with you @KianaVee. Dad loves so so much."

Gary got a lot of love and support from his followers, notably some of his colleagues. Fellow singer, musician, actor, and TV host Ogie Alcasid, for instance, commented: "Parenthood brotha… with you there. God bless the V’s." Ogie has his own share of experiences as a dad to two grown-up daughters Leila and Sarah, as well as to tween son Nate (read here).

Sportscaster Dyan Castillejo, who has a grown-up son, concurred with Gary and Ogie with this comment: "Truuuuue!!"

Actress Gelli de Belen, whose two adult sons with actor-husband Ariel Rivera are based in Canada, was likewise sympathetic and supportive: "It never gets easier @garyvalenciano. Hang in there!"

Another actress, Arlene Muhlach, shared the same sentiment: "I feel you. Even if mine only stays in another city, I feel the same way."

Being away from your children, even if they're already adults, is never easy. It's even harder when they move out of the family home to live on their own, as realized by Amy Perez.

The TV host once said, "At one point, mare-realize mo na parang saranggola sila na kailangan mo silang i-let go at makita mo lang na lumilipad sila. Bilang magulang, masaya ka na. Pero ang hirap pala." (Read her story here).

In Gary's older post on Kiana, he marvelled at his bunso: "There are things she still does that she used to do when she was kid. And yet she’s grown up with so much maturity that many times I have to stop myself from talking because of how well she expresses and explains herself to me."
