It's been over a month since Angeline Quinto revealed to the public that she's expecting her first child with her non-showbiz partner. Now in her third trimester, the singer says that so far, her journey towards motherhood has been an enjoyable experience for her.
The 32-year-old singer recently took to Youtube to share bits of information about her first pregnancy. In her vlog, she answered some of the questions her fans sent via Instagram.
When asked what she felt after finding out she's pregnant, Angeline says immense happiness took over her.
"Walang kasing saya. Walang araw na hindi ako na-excite. Sa araw-araw na nangyayari sakin ngayon sa pagbubuntis ko, may mga bagong pasabog 'tong bata eh. Nakakatuwa na nakakaiyak," she shared.
Mood swings and being sleepy while pregnant
Some of Angeline's fans were curious if she became moody and felt more sleepy now that she's pregnant. The singer answered in the affirmative.
On having mood swings, Angeline says, "Sobrang sensitive ako ngayon. Ewan ko para akong nababaliw minsan." She adds, there are days when she would feel confused about her own emotions.
She adds, "Siguro talagang gano'n 'pag buntis, parang hindi mo naiintindihan 'yung mood mo. Parang ang bilis-bilis mag-iba."
During pregnancy, "estrogen levels are spiking and creating a hormonal imbalance," according to family and financial advisor Mayang Pascual. She says in a previous SmartParenting.com.ph article that this is why it's normal for pregnant women to experience mood swings.
On being sleepy, Angeline says, "Sobra simula nung ikalawang buwan ng pagbubuntis ko!" However, she makes an effort to wake herself up and maintain an active lifestyle by doing light household chores and exercise.
Challenges during pregnancy
Normally, pregnancy isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Aside from mood swings and sleepy days, Angeline also experiences changes in her body.
Like any pregnant woman, the singer also feels back pain from time to time. She also noticed having shortness of breath when singing. This is why when asked what she misses doing now that she's pregnant, one of her answers was singing difficult songs is one of them.
"Importante rin talaga na kahit every other day makapag-breathing exercise. 'Yun 'yung pinakaimportante sakin ngayon para hindi pa rin nalilimutan nung sarili ko kung pano yung tamang pagkanta."
Food cravings
Angeline shared that she recently finds herself craving for penoy, balut, and lumpiang toge, matched with plenty of vinegar. There are days she would crave these foods during the morning or during the wee hours of the day.
There's also a specific type of penoy she would only eat. "'Yung medyo basa, parang taho 'yung laman, malambot," she explained.
Angeline wants to name her baby after her mom and idol
The singer already has a few name ideas in mind for her first baby. If it's a girl, Angeline wants to name her baby after her late Mama Bob, whose real name is Sylvia, and the name of her idol in singing.
"May naisip ako. Kasi gustong-gusto ko 'yung name ni Ms. Reg. [Regine Velasquez] tapos nung pinagsama ko 'yung pangalan ni Ms. Reg at tsaka ni Mama Bob ang ganda nung kinalabasan--Sylvia Regina or Regina Sylvia.
"Ang ganda di ba. Parang ang sarap-sarap lang pakinggan."
Angeline is expected to give birth in April and says she can't wait to meet her little one by then. "Ang naiisip ko nga minsan sana mag-April na. Kahit mahirapan ako sa pag-iri ko eh okay lang makita ko na agad 'yung bata," she shared.
Same here. We can't wait to meet your baby too, Angeline!
