Halfway Through Pregnancy, Bianca King 'Switched To A Private Midwife' For Complete Care

Bianca King has successfully completed her second trimester, and she's now looking forward to the last stretch of her pregnancy till she gives birth to her and her husband Ralph Wintle's first child.

The actress, who's based in Australia, recently took to Instagram to give an update on her pregnancy.

"2nd trimester," she wrote in the caption of her post showing reels of her lastest ultrasound scan and other pregnancy-related activities. "Ticked stuff off my to-do list like an energizer bunny, in spite of the added weight and pain in my body."

Bianca happily noted on herself, "How I have grown! Mentally, spiritually and emotionally."

She went on explaining, "Grateful for everyone who shared their birth stories - positive and traumatic. They helped me to ask questions and appreciate how we can’t control how baby chooses to arrive.

"But what I can control - my care team, how I labour, my environment for birth, the medical intervention when needed, and all choices I make for my body and baby - are what I focused on. Understanding how these affect my well being and outcomes in life for my baby."

Bianca also gave a report on how she's doing so far: "I enjoyed immersing myself daily in pregnancy, birth and parenting education. I started knowing nothing. It’s all so interesting, it’s like a hobby now!

"Grateful to have the capacity to consume documentaries, podcasts and books which have shaped the way I think about life, not just birth. Through my own experience, I saw the gaps in information.

"It was not served to me, I had to dig for my options. The more I learned, the more I realized the autonomy I could have and trust I can put in myself. Half way through pregnancy, I switched to a private midwife, who can provide the emotional, mental & spiritual care I was missing."

She then pointed out, "I wish that women receive all information they need to make informed decisions at the first meeting with their care provider. Confidence, love, education and extra care is what we need. A confident mama is a healthy mama! I’m so excited to give birth."

Bianca got an encouraging comment from her sister-in-law and fellow actress Iza Calzado, who happens to be pregnant as well with her first child. Their husbands Ralph and Ben Wintle are brothers.

Iza commented, "Go Mama!!!"

Ralph and Ben's mother Friday Wintle also commented, telling Bianca "Looking good with the bump!"
