If there's one thing that has changed in Luis Manzano now that Jessy Mendiola is almost ready to pop, aside from his growing dad bod, it's his perspective.

In Jessy's recent vlog, the couple got honest about the changes that are happening to them as they prepare for the arrival of their baby girl they fondly call Peanut.

Changes in soon-to-be dad Luis

"I've always been a planner for the future," Luis said. "Iba yung may plano ka dahil may dadalhin kayong bagong buhay sa mundo."

"At the end of the day that you will always fall back to being a husband and being a partner."

Gusto natin minsan kailangan mag-trabaho, trabaho, trabaho, pero at the same time, kailangan kong mag-iwan ng oras talaga pa rin to be a partner, and 'pag andyan na si Peanut, to be a father."

Jessy shared, if there's one thing that she wants their daughter to inherit from Luis, it's how he treats other people, especially their helpers.

"They treat yung mga kasambahay as family. Gusto ko maging ganun si Peanut." Luis affirmed, "Hindi porket binabayaran ninyo ang kasambahay, automatic empleyado ang tingin ninyo sa kanila."

Meanwhile, the soon-to-be girl dad has this to say to other dads, "Congrats na magiging tatay ka na, but never forget that you are a husband first and foremost."

He explained, couples should always protect their relationship. "Kung sakaling ang iyong anak ay lumaki na, ang maiiwan dyan kayong dalawa pa rin. Never forget at the end of the day that you will always fall back to being a husband and being a partner," he said.

Physical changes in Jessy

Now 33 weeks pregnant, Jessy said she feels insecure about her body. Although he assures her that she looks hotter than ever, Jessy admits, "Ako kasi, I don't feel like myself anymore. Kumbaga dati diba may abs ako, naka-swimsuit pa ko, may bikini pics pa ako."

"When it comes to pregnancy, kailangan mo nalang talaga tanggapin na may magbabago talaga sa katawan mo, and it's not going to be the same anymore."

"It is such a huge blessing, but it's also a huge sacrifice for you."

She also shared that the reason why she always looks glowing is that it's a form of self-love.

"Kasi nageeffort ako - mag-makeup, mag-ayos, magsuot ng maganda for myself. 'Yun nalang nagpapafeel sa akin na ako pa rin si Jessy, plus meron lang akong tao sa tiyan ko."

Jessy also gets real about the sacrifices that come with motherhood. "Mahirap siya. Ayoko kasi din yung maging plastic yung sasabihin ko na, "Oh my gosh! It's such a huge blessing!"

"It is such a huge blessing, but it's also a huge sacrifice for you. Ang dami talaga nating ile-let go. Hindi lang yung physical looks, hindi lang yung size ng damit natin, ang dami sobra."

Preparing for parenthood

Jessy stressed how important it is to be ready - financially, emotionally, and mentally - for parenthood. It won't be easy, she said, but there's no choice but to be ready for the struggles that come with it.

Recently, the couple shared their recent investment: a customized van for their growing family.

Jessy revealed, she saved up for this van of her dreams, so that they can move around with their daughter comfortably. Among its many features are high-tech seats, adjustable lights, a diaper-changing table, and a cooler. Plus, it has a functional bathroom with a bidet! Watch the van tour here.

And if there's one thing she would tell another pregnant woman, it's this: "Kaya mo 'yan."

Take it day by day."

It may sound easier said than done, but Jessy says this is how she's going to power through during the tough times: "Magdasal, be open to your partner, and never, ever forget about yourself, alagaan mo rin sarili mo."
