Instagram-worthy pregnancy hard launch ideas

While some parents opt for soft-launching their milestones like pregnancy and childbirth, there are also those who opt to simply reveal the news.

Soft-launch vs hard-launch

Soft-launching involves subtly sharing the news on social media, starting with friends or family, before going public. It aims for a more controlled and intimate approach, often through cryptic posts or in-person surprises.

On the other hand, a hard launch entails explicitly sharing the news on social media, such as flaunting a baby bump or sharing a photo of a pregnancy test or ultrasound scan for everyone to see. Whichever you choose is perfectly fine.

If you're pregnant or planning to get pregnant soon, here are some pregnancy announcement ideas to inspire you from celebrity parents:

1. Maja Salvador

Maja Salvador and her husband Rambo Nuñez shocked the internet when they announced their pregnancy on December last year, in a series of Christmas-themed posts on Instagram. The two got married in February of the same year in a private ceremony.

2. Maxine Medina

Just last month, actress and Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina shared the news about her first pregnancy by holding up an ultrasound photo of their little one.

"So, this is how it feels to hold an ultrasound photo of our own little one, yieeee… We’re thrilled to share the most precious news! We’re expecting our first little bundle of joy! Our hearts are bursting with so much love and excitement as we begin this incredible journey into parenthood. OMG… weeee can’t wait."

Taking Maxine's cue, they had to wait for their check-up and hear their child's heartbeat before they announced.

3. Kristine Hermosa Sotto

Mom of five and actress Kristine Hermosa Sotto meanwhile shared the news about her baby #6 on the way by telling a story about God's faithfulness to their family.

"To be honest, I was hopeful but never really expected He would bless us with children.. like.. lots of them and another one on the way," she wrote in an Instagram post with Oyo Boy's photo in a shoot, and a photo of her ultrasound scan last February 19.

4. Serena Dalrymple

Former child star Serena Dalrymple shared on Instagram that she is going to be a first-time mom with a series of photos of their growing family, including their fur babies. Among the props in their maternity shoot is a cute board that read, "Youngest due on March 2024."

5. Rihanna

Probably one of the most unforgettable and most-watched pregnancy announcement in 2023 was Rihanna's performance during the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in February.

Wearing red, Rihanna danced, flew, and floated in mid-air. During her last song, Diamonds, she rubbed her belly and it confirmed that she's having another baby with rapper A$AP Rocky.

We highly recommend that you don't copy Rihanna's way though! Just let it inspire you to think out of the box when it comes to your pregnancy announcement.

6. Anne Curtis

Nope, Anne Curtis is not pregnant with her second baby yet, but if you could remember how they announced their first pregnancy through a music video in 2019, it was just beautiful.

Remember, you're not required to announce your pregnancy on social media if you don't feel like it. Whichever feels best to you and your partner is the way to go. You can totally skip it and announce when the baby's arrived. It's totally up to you.
